Just so everyone knows, they do not have any 1 bedroom's available basically all summer long at vero beach during any of the weekends, meaning friday through Sunday. We were trying to scheduled a quick weekend gettaway to vero since we live in orlando, but it aint happening. Oh well, we decided to book a 1 bedroom at boardwalk villas memorial day weekend! WOohoo. We just had a nice weekend gettaway this past weekend at Saratoga Springs..its really nice to book at the last minute and get a wonderful weekend vacation at disney.

When I was looking into staying at Vero, I actually thought that the Inn rooms were desirable vs the "villa" type rooms.

The Inn rooms are all studios and are very nice compared to the studios in the villas(better views). However the 1 br units blow the Inn rooms away. Much more room, full kitchen and whirlpool tub.

I called 2 weeks ago to book August 10 - 14 for a 1 BR. Ended up with a studio, which I changed to a OV Inn room the next day when, after further investigation I learned that they had a Micro/fridge. Waitlisted for the 1 BR. The Waitlist came through last week - about 5 days after being on the list. Can't wait - it's our last East Coast DVC to visit.

We only checked the first week in august, wife goes back to work the second week in august so we were looking just in june, and july. I guess since my wife starts back teaching in august i dont lump august as a summer month anymore.

If early October is available for you I would try that. We had good availability at the last minute and the weather was low-mid 80s and the resort was not overcrowded.

Thanks for the suggestion. We live in Orlando so we are really familiar with the weather, but October is our trip on the Dream! We are really looking forward to that.

What?......a Vero stay and the Dream. You lucky ducks! I get jealous just watching the video of the Dream sailing into Port Canaveral. We hope to sail someday soon as well.

I am not sure how many 1 bdr villas there are at VB, but I don't think there are many.

Edit: just found this info:

VB has 18 dedicated 2 BR's; 36 Lockoffs (each of which can be divided
into a studio and a 1BR); 6 3BR Beach Cottages; and 112 Inn rooms.
The Inn rooms designated as Garden View (vegetation and parking views)
and Ocean View.
