We have purchased a resale and are not yet in the system. We are trying to plan for 1-2 nights after a cruise in January 2010. It will be our family of 4 (one under 3) and my parents. I see that AKL and BLT have one bedroom villas that sleep 5. Can anyone tell me about them? AKL anyway? Just trying to figure out if we should go that route or get a 2 bedroom.

Thank you!

There are enough sleeping spaces for your entire group, but you will be very crowded. I can't imagine have four adults and two kids in a room this size. We had three adults and one pre-teen in a one bedroom at SSR and we felt extremely cramped. The newer resorts are not any bigger. They just included a twin sized sleeper chair along with the queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room.

Thanks. We cannot book anything until June. Just trying to plan ahead. I'm sure no one else here does that!

AKL has a king bed in the master bedroom, a sofa pull out (full size), and a chair pull out (does not come in the value room). Of course it is doable, but I do not think it will be very comfortable. Do you plan on giving the master bedroom to your parents? They will not like the sofa pull out. We just came back yesterday from FL and had a 1 bedroom (me, dh, dd (17 years old) and my godson (3 years old)). My dd hated sleeping on the pull out. I laid on it, and it was not very comfy....if you are able to get a 2 bedroom, you are better off going that route. Then again you only need accomodations for 1 or 2 nights, so if you don't want to spend the extra points, you are only there a short period. Good luck with whatever you decide. :)

The newer AKL as well as BLT have the 2nd full bath in the 1 b/r, so that helps a lot. It will still be crowded though.

Assume you mean AKV (Jambo House) at the Lodge and not AKL itself which is the hotel.

You might consider AKV (Kidani Village) since it will be open by then. I believe those 1-B/R villas are larger than the ones at AKV Jambo House.

The difference is that AKV Jambo was created by taking existing hotel rooms and linking them to make Studio, 1-b/r and 2-b/r villas. The units at Kidani village are being built from the ground up as DVC units.

Just a thought.

Yes, I meant AKV, sorry. If we did the one bedroom, my parents would get the bedroom and my DH and I would take the couch. My daughter will be 9 and would sleep on the pull out chair. My son will be 2 and will sleep in a pack n play.

Thanks again everyone. I cannot wait to get our pin so we can get into the DVC site.

Maybe think about 2 studios - one for you & your family and one for your parents, you'd save same points too ( not alot but still a savings in pts ) and it will give everyone there own space/privacy which might be better to help unwind after your cruise.

Sounds like a wonderful vacation, enjoy !! :goodvibes

5forDiz...now that is an idea we didn't think of. Off to do more Disney math!

And after the cruise, studio will feel very roomy. Hahaha!!
