One bag or more?

For those that have kids, do you take one bag and carry everything or do you let your kids have bags too? I am afraid they will leave their bag somewhere, however I don't want to necessarily be the one carrying everything. With my family just ponchos, snacks, and drinks can become heavy.

Our kids are little so I carry the backpack and yes it can get heavy! I think if an older child wanted to carry his/her own bag that would help out, but little ones would definately lose it. Perhaps a fanny pack would work though. They could put their poncho, sunscreen, money, and other little things in it.

We take 1 bag with sunscreen, wipes, autograph book etc. It usually hangs on the stroller and then I take when we go on the rides. The ponchos stay in the basket under the stroller.

One or two bags only in the parks. It's too much trouble to go through the bag check and to decide who has what in each bag. Have fun!

When we went last January each child 5,7,8, carried their own fanny pac with their money, autograph book, pen, and chapstick. My dh carried a backpack with everything else. The two older kids had no problems going with their fanny pacs going through security and I helped the baby (at 5 she is still my baby :) )

we used to carry just 1 bag that DH & I traded off carrying. This year, I am going to have DS 8 and DS 6 use a hip pack for some of their stuff as I've heard alot of families do that. who knows, I"ll either love it, or just have everything in my bag by the end of the trip ?!?!?

We just take one back pack basically and after our last trip, I don't think I'll be letting my kiddos have their own for a long time, unless it's attached to them in some way. We were coming back from MK one night and I was holding (DD-17 months at time) and the back pack. I had asked my DS (6 at time) to hold the little bottle cooler. He did, and we got to our resort and that's when I realized he left it on the bus:scared1: My wonderful sister went back on the buses to go to MK (after closing) to get the cooler from some main station or something. I was soooooo thankful they found it; I don't know how we would have made it through the rest of the week without it. That was the last time I had him responsible for anything that trip. I'm not sure why I didn't think to double check with him. He had a full day of playing and was tired and is only 6, but I was just happy they found it.

now that my son is older, he carries a fanny pack with his KTTW, chap stick, sunglasses, and a few little other things of mine I can sneak in ;) . When he was little, I carried a small backpack with a change of clothes for him, sunscreen, etc. and hung it off the stroller. I should add I only carried a backpack because we had the stroller to hang it from. Nothing worse than lugging a bag around the parks for 7 hours. Now I carry nothing but my KTTW on a lanyard ! Nice.

I found smaill fanny paks for the kids online. I don't remember the site but they weren't expensive and had a variety of colors to choose from. I also attached a luggage tag to each fanny pack that had the child's name with our hotel and phone information on them.
