One AP holder and one not

I don't know if this is even possible, but here's my situation.

I will be traveling with a friend. I have an annual pass, he does not. Since I have an AP, I would like a room only reservation. I've heard that AP holders can add the Dining Plan without having to buy tickets - is that true? And if it is, am I able to get the plan for both myself and my friend?

I've also read in the past that people would buy a package with tickets and then save the tickets to use at another time since they had an AP. I'm thinking this would probably not be possible anymore with the Magic Bands. Is that right?

I'm also aware that as an AP holder I can buy TiW. However, I really wanted the dining plan for this trip because my friend is super money conscious and I think he would enjoy himself a lot more if it was prepaid and he didn't have to worry about it on the spot.

Thanks if anyone can help me figure this out!

Yes it is and yes you can (even with your friend). However, it is a ticketless package, not a room-only reservation. You would be subject to the deposit, payment, change and cancellation rules that apply to packages.

No, it is absolutely possible.

Is he money conscious because he doesn't like looking at the prices or because he wants to save, because it's pretty easy to get the dining plan and then actually lose money on it. Would he have an issue if that were to happen?

Thanks for your help! This is all great news. He is money conscious in the sense that he doesn't like looking at the prices. Believe me, I've run the numbers on past trips and had TiW for the last year. I think it's going to be a lot easier for him to prepay it (and pay me back in monthly installments) rather than spend a lot of money on food in one week.
