I'm not sure if this belongs under Disney Restaurants or Park Strategies... When making ressies for Cinderella's RT, can you eat the hour prior to the attractions opening? MK used to open main street an hour prior to the attractions and I wonder if you can make a reservation for that time. I'm not sure if I'm asking the question correctly or if this is the right place... I just remember that 2 years ago we arrived at MK an hour early and only Main street and the shops were open, the park didn't officially open until 9, but you could enter at 8 and get in line for the 'rope drop'. I can't remember if seating is available at Cinderella's restaurant during that hour - or if that is how the park still opens. HELP!!!!!

Yes, we had a 8:30 seating with the park opening at 9. All I have to say is get the Disney portrait of your family on Main Street RIGHT THEN. We have a GREAT shot of us in May with NO ONE on the streets and a perfect view of the castle and Main Street. It is by far my favorite souvenir.

We had a 9am seating for CRTs and I agree that you have to get that photo on Main Street then and definitely take video. It was so amazing to even take photos and video of 4 yr old dd running down Main Street in her Belle dress with no one else around. It is truely magical.

As far as being there for the rope drop, if you're lucky enough to get 8am PS then you'll be there. The only time I got through 9am was what they had and that's what I took:) But, even at 10am many of the attractions in Fantasyland were still minimal waits.

I just called for October and with a 9AM opening, the earliest seating was 8AM. Of course by 7:01 AM they were already booked way past that time. Good luck.

Quick side question on this topic... when you are en route to the castle... who can take your picture? There are only two of us (married couple), but we soo want our picture taken!

When we entered MK, the CMs with the Disney cameras were there and ready to go. They will take a pic with your camera if you ask them nicely, but we got the official one too.

Has anyone here ever experienced eating at CRT early like 8:00 or 8:20 and been done before the park opens at 9:00? Where do you wait?

Is there still a chance to be one of the first to experience Fantasyland/Dumbo ride?

Where does the rope actually drop? At the gate or at the entrance to Fantasyland??

I'm so confused and my DD whose 6 would really like to try to get to Dumbo or Pooh first to see if there are any characters running around first thing in the morning...

Anyone know the scoop?

Thanks.

beattyfamily, you can park that big o'l double wide stroller of yours right there at the entrance to FL under the castle.:teeth: When you come downstairs from breakfast, there'll probably be a crowd waiting...just ease up to the rope (careful not to plow anyone down with that big stroller...just kidding) there on the right where you are and one of your kiddo's might get chosen to open FL!:Pinkbounc

Have fun!

Jennymouse,

Thanks for the info! I'll be sure to take great care not to plow anyone down!

I have heard, though, how rude some parents can be when trying to get to Dumbo first thing in the morning, and that certainly won't be us!

I already warned my daughter that we are taking our time eating and if we get down there before the rope drops, we need to watch out for rude parents in a big hurry and we might not be the first to get there.

I was really just curious, just in case we somehow eat fast!

Thanks!

We had an 8:10 PS last year and were finished and at the rope about 5 minutes before 9....perfect timing. Oh, and the rumors are true! My DGDthen6 and I was walking to Dumbo and this man literally ran over my DGD, stepped on her heel, her shoe came off, she fell down, and he literally jumped over top of her and kept on going! Be careful, some people are crazy about that !@#$% Dumbo ride!

Ok, back in June we had a 8:20 at CRT. I was thinking that no way will we make rope drop, but something funny happened. We got to the main gate for 8am and by the time we got into the castle we were seated immediately, around 8:10. We sat and were immediately served our breakfast and the characters started to come, well, the thing that I didn't know, was that the Princesses only stop once at your table, they will not come back to your table, so make the most when they are there. Well, after that let down, we packed up and went down stairs which was around 8:45, maybe 8:50. We were the first at the rope, I have the coolest pictures of FL with no one there. When the rope dropped, we went over to Pooh's honey pots, rode it once and then the CM said that there were some guests at the entrance and that if we hurried, we'd probably be able to see them, so around we went and guess what???? We got to ride the ride with Tigger :teeth: Being the Eeyore fan, I really wanted to ride with him, but beggers can't be chooser and it was very exciting. I have the picture and a whole page dedicated to this magical event in my trip scrapbook....

Rope drop is do-able!!!!

I have also been wondering about the PS times for CRT. I have 8:20 scheduled for Oct. Am I correct to assume that they aren't completely full at the 8:05 opening? I don't know if that's worded right, but basically I'm trying to understand how they will seat us at 8:20 if the first people in are eating at 8:05. Carone0318, you were actually seated early so maybe it's not going to be an issue. Anybody else have any info on this?

We were actually seated early. We checked in at about 8:10 and were the first people of the day at the table we were at. I think that they stagger the PSs because you would have about 50 different families show up at the same time if everyone had the same seating time, know what I mean....

Have fun ;)
