Once you're back home, how do you maintain the magic?

Help needed here. We've done Disney 3 times in the past year or so, and now there are no Disney trips in the foreseeable future. (Woe is me.) I'm gonna need some ideas on how to keep the magic going! (Obviously, these boards are a great fix--but I can't be on the computer 24/7. My kids need their VMK! :) )
So, what are some ways you scatter and/or soak up pixie dust pixiedust: in your day-to-day lives?
One thing I've been doing is to sip some coffee from my white mug with Walt looking at Mickey with Main Street in the background--have you seen this mug? It is priceless. I wish I could get a hold of a print with this image. And I'll admire my Mickey bling ring. And listen to my Wishes soundtrack.
But I could use some more suggestions.
Anyone? Be an enabler? Get me a fix! Thanks! :sunny:

Really good question. I am always looking for ways to stay in the Disney spirit year round. Last trip, I bought a Mickey pumpkin candle holder and a little statue of Mickey standing next to a snowman. I am hoping they will help keep the holidays a little disney-er. I have a disney sweatshirt jacket (matches with my DD) that helps also.

Have you made a scrapbook of your trips? This could be a family affair with everyone participating. We do get the Disney Blues when our trips are over. We - I should say I - begin planning for our next Disney trip immediately. Even if it is a year in advance, I start looking for new things, deals, offers, freebies, and the likes. We also talk about our trip, as a family, sharing our favorites, etc. Oh, and if you haven't played Scene It! Disney version, I highly recommend this. We actually got together a few weeks ago w/ friends who will be in Disney w/ us in Oct and played Disney Scene it. We laughed and cut up. It was great fun. Even the kids can play! Of course, it was really special because they are as much Disney fanatics as we are. We are anxiously awaiting our Oct trip and have been watching all the different Disney movies in anticipation. I think this would be a good idea post-trip, as well. Have a family movie night - lights out, popcorn, and Disney Magic. Just my two cents... hope this might help. Have a magical day!

The little things make me happy. I love seeing our dog bowls in the kitchen. They are from Disney World and have all the dog characters on them. That puts me in the spirit.

we do little things like use our old refillable mugs from the hotels for coffee or juice, and if I make pancakes for breakfast I'll make them in the shape of Mickey :earsboy:
We also have a lot of disney christmas decorations - around the holidays it's Disney everywhere! I'm working on slowly building a collection of Disney deorations for other holidays like Halloween.

Scrapbook, make photo albums and slideshows. Then look at your scrapbooks, photo albums and watch your slideshows. That got us through about 8 months now.

My mom just gave me an entire set of Disney antenna toppers for my SUV. I can change them all year long. Right now I have Minnie on, but can't wait to put on the pumpkin for Halloween! Its nice to see the mouse ears every day on my way to work! :earsboy:

My scrapbook room is all Disney-themed. Every time I walk in there, I'm surrounded by my favorite Disney things!! :goodvibes

We have our trip photos downloaded on our computer and use them as a screen saver, so we see them everyday!

I also make Mickey shaped pancakes for my DD. Her and I also often play Disney games, all princess themed, like memory, monopoly, spinning wishes. I was thinking about getting the Scene It DVD game and the Magic Kingdom game to help us get in the mood for next time.

I love it in the fall when ABC has The Wonderful World of Disney. I wonder when that starts?

Today makes one week since our return after spending 2 wonderful weeks and I already miss the magic!! But I know the feeling of missing Disney but do keep it alive in the house. I have so many Disney items and each year I buy a new snowglobe and Christmass tree ornament so I have it with me all year long.

We are all truly Disney Fans!!!!!

Mine is special and not everyone can do it. My dad is in Kuwait with the army i am 14. We are disney obsessed! Me and him stay form open to closeing. My little sister and mom come and go later and earlier. When he comes back form his deployment we are taking a trip to Disney to celebrate. I always email him new pins i like or reviews from rides. It really helps. My sis and mom aren't that into it so he said i get to do all the planning for the trip. :goodvibes That scene it game is also amazing with a big crowd! You could try to do the same with your kids but it is probably has a different effect .

My Dad got me the same mug and I love it! One thing I've been doing is putting together the 1,000 piece mickey puzzles you can get from walmart/target and the like. I also have a mickey pin that i use, have pictures everywhere, and I wear a Mickey/Disney t-shirt at least once a week.

I would suggest using your coffee mugs, wearing clothing you bought there, making scrap books, telling other people about your trip, making online movies of your trip, and starting on a new vacation plan for your next trip :cool1:

:cheer2: Well some call me crazy but these are some of the things that help me in between our vacations. When you pull into our driveway you are greeted by a mickey mouse address sign, then as your walking up to our front door you are greeted by a 16" mickey built into our sidewalk. In my dining room are my disney teapots and antenae toppers in our plants, in my kitchen are my tinkerbell cookie jars, in our hallway is my long glass curio cabinet filled with trinkets from the parks and with all of our park pictures from the last 10 trips covering them,I have also started collecting jim shore designs that sit in our family room, in my car I listen to all disney park cds, I have my tink watch to tell time, my mickey pocketbook, my cinderella checks, my resort mugs for tea in the morning and don't forget when I miss it too much I watch the vacation planner cd. Oh and our dog Jasmine also helps, and being on the disboards everyday definately helps. Good luck!! :cheer2:
