Are you directed to your room, or do you have to check in, or do they get your luggage? NOt sure, this will be my first time. Thanks for your help.

Arrive at airport, look for DCL cruise line personnel.

They escort you to the buses.

No need to get your luggage if you tagged them with the DCL tags.

Arrive at port

Go through security

Check in

Go through the Mickey Ears to the ship

Board ship

Your picture is taken along with the date of the cruise.

You go to Lunch ... either in Parrot Cay or Topsiders/Beach Bingo Buffet

Then at 1:30 you can go to your staterooms

There is time for reservations (Polo's, Founder's Reef, Spa)

4:00 Safety Drill

4:30 Sailaway Party

5:00 The Disney Magic/Wonder sets sail.

Land and Sea Package - Board buses at Resort or AKL

Go through Port Security

No need to check in at port - go straight to the Mickey Ears and board the ship.

The luggage is automatically delivered to your stateroom, usually anywhere from 1:00 - 5:00.

I was expecting "The Love Boat" when we went for our first cruise (DCL of course) last year. The only things to add to what's already listed:

As you enter the ship their are cast members there to welcome you aboard. We were announced on with cheering and the whole hoopla. Some people have said this didn't happen for them but it could be what time they got on board. I think our wedding ears helped!

There are cast members who will help direct you to your room after you've eaten but for the most part, you can just wander about. Everything is well marked!

Is that the brig? Or does the ship have a nautical name for jail?!

Did you spot any large salt water marine life in the ocean this time, BD?

Be aware that CMs may try to steer you to the Topsiders/BB lunch and you may wish to walk past them to get to Parrot Cay. I think if you board right at 12:15 it is a bit if herd mentality so pay attention to where you are being directed so that you go where you want to be.

I go to my stateroom regardless if it's ready or not. I need to get rid of our carryons and freshen up. I do the buffet after the Palo reservations and Dining Room Changes.
Not to be rude to the Host or Hostess, but certain things need to be accomplished (priority) and I just do the drop off and leave.

Awwww shucks!

Hey, BD - I've lost my fantasy man - he cut his dread locks off. Guess I'm just a superficial gal after all! Maybe I'll just go back to my childhood fantasy - now was that Roy Rogers or Lou Costello?

Glad to know this is an option. I really didn't want DS and I to have to carry our bags with us to lunch.
