We are going for our first trip soon. Could anyone who has small children let me know if they would make a point out of going to DTD to Once Upon a Toy - or if they think their will be pleanty of things in the Park to pick from?

I want to get my son something special for his birthday while we are there.

Thanks for your help!

There is plenty at the parks to chose from. There is however some things at DTD that you can not find in the parks. For us a trip would not be complete with out building a light saber or picking up some pieces for Mr. Potato. To make what I am saying contradict even more. We may just do the build your own ears in MK this trip and skip DTD all together. I guess it boils down to how much time you have and what you really want as that special gift.

Once upon a toy is just a neat place. Fun to go to. Some of the stores in Disney now have the Mr. Potato head, but it is still more fun at Once upon a toy!

Can you please tell me about build your own ear in MK? Where do you go to do this? Any details would be great!!!
TIA

I was going to ask the same thing. We were at Disney 18 months ago and I didn't see anything. They may have added this since then. I definitely would like more info as we are leaving for WDW in just under 3 weeks and this is something that I know our family would love to do.

There are definitely plenty of places to get "stuff" in the parks - but the atmosphere of the Once store is incredible. That store is a MUST DO for our family everytrip - even if no one buys anything. It's just so fun to look around.

we love OUAT, I love the potato head stuff, I try to get a new outfit for ours each time we go. And Dds love the My little ponies, then naturally for Ds we have to walk over to the lego store, but what is great about that store too is the play area outside.

Have fun

Since your kids are so young, I really think you could skip it. How does he handle the toy dept at stores? OUAT can be totally overwhelming since it's so big.

What else do they have besides Mr Potato Head and LIttle Pony? How much is it to stuff a box?

They have all kinds of Disney themed toys. And to answer your other question, the Mr. Potato Head stuff 18 months ago was $18 per box and all you could fit. However you had to have the box close. There often times are CM's who will help you find a way to fit as much as possible in a box. I think the My Little Pony stuff is the same price but since I don't have a girl, I wouldn't know.

I personally think it's worth the trip. We love DTD and Once Upon a Toy. Here they do have a huge selection, but the best part is that they have all the areas where the kids can play with the toys in the store. It's just a fun atmosphere and you could head to legoland to and play there.
