Once Upon A Time

I think that Regina got her father back before creating the curse. Remember she had to use his heart to make the curse work, so he died in Fairytale Land before the curse was enacted. That is why his tomb is in Storybrooke.

Do all queens have chambers of hearts? It would make sense for the Queen of Hearts to do it but, why would Regina?

I assume it was her father's heart that was in the box (although the box looked empty). So, did the Queen of Hearts kill Regina's father (when? how? why?) then Regina brought him back to life, only to kill him again?

And if the mushroom in Wonderland can bring people back to life, would it work outside of Wonderland? Could it be used to bring all of the people back that Rumple's magic can't? Jefferson said that he lost his wife because of his work. You wonder who she is and if she died or if she left him.

WHERE is Emma's lying "super power"???? If she really could tell when someone's lying, wouldn't she have seen through Jefferson's "accident" and "limp"?

It just seems so odd that they called such attention to it early on, and then just have her get in stupid situations when it's faulty.

This has been driving me crazy!:rolleyes1 I am loving that she seems to be believing it now, or at least I think she is. Maybe she has to believe first before her powers will kick in. :wizard:

I am still hung up on the hat though. I do believe that Emma got the one that she made to work and that he has now been returned, but to where? Since he was in Wonderland did he go there or because he was wanting to go to FL did he go there? Also, the hat was left behind so how will he use it now? Did it just open up to a room of doors like before but he will have to return to SB to get it back? So confused.

Wow that was a great episode. Even Db was watching, lol.

Am I the only that thinks what Jefferson said (the same the number that go in have to go out) might hold true for more than just Wonderland? Like all the people that left the fairytale land in the curse will have to go back...including Emma?

Gee, I looked at it as Henry was tiny, hence the need for the mushroom to eat to get bigger? I just thought he was "trapped" in the box, not just his heart.

This was my thought, also the hatter mentioned about not eating things in wonderland.

If the hat worked i think he'd have ended up back in wonderland. Also i was confused did MM and Emma use the hat to get back to the jail?

That would be a problem since Graham(and maybe, Katherine) is dead, right?

You can certainly tell that the same folks who wrote Lost are writing OUAT. So many questions!! They lead you on, thinking Emma is finally starting to believe in the book and curse, and then WHAM! Emma whacks Jefferson in the head and you realize she was only humoring him. I hope there's still a little "nudge" in the back of her brain that maybe, just maybe, this whole curse thing might really be true.

I hadn't thought that Emma used her "magic" to get the hat to work, but that would certainly explain why Jefferson disappeared after MM kicked him out the window!

I can't wait for next week when we find out why Regina is so evil. Do you think they can possibly make us feel some sympathy toward Regina?

When we saw Jefferson go into the hat the first time there was a room of doors so I assume he went there when he fell. I think the curse didn't work on him as he was protected by his madness. If being in Wonderland was the key then does that mean everyone in Wonderland is in storeybrook? What about the people behind all the other doors? I don't think so. I think we haven't seen the last of him. He will be back for Grace.

Do you remember Alice in Wonderland? When Alice fell down the rabbit hole, she wound up in the room with the table. Remember Drink Me, Eat Me (small bottle, little cake). The room had many doors in it and she had to get the key off the table, and find the right door that opened with the key. So I think all the doors are just part of the Alice in Wonderland/Alice Through the Looking Glass stories.

I already do, sometimes. I see flickers of humanity in her. I saw it in this episode. When she was about to leave Wonderland with her father, Jefferson said he promised his daughter he'd come back, there was a second, a tiny little second, where Regina looked sad, remorseful (she is an incredible actress!). We saw that same flicker with Hansel and Gretel when they refused to live with her so they could find their father. Family seems to trigger that response in her. But true to form she turned that into anger, hate, evil.

I see it in Rumple, too (another great actor!).

Remember, evil is made, not born. I can't wait to see next week's episode to find out how it happens to EQ.

I just hope they don't confuse me so much like they did in Lost that I stopped watching. :rotfl:

I think Emma is starting to realize that there might be something to the curse thing, but she's just not sure. At least that is what I got when she asked Henry if she could hold onto the book.

I think Emma's "magic" is that she "believed" in what Jefferson said (and even said something to the effect "...then that woman in the other room is my mother...") just before knocking Jefferson on the head with the telescope.

And no way can I feel sympathy toward Regina! She's a great actress because she has me believing she is just pure evil! Can't wait for next week!

Great episode last night. The fact that the ability to travel between worlds existed even before the curse was enacted could have an impact later down the road. Getting to see MM be a bad-*** was great and got me thinking. Was she able to kick him through the window (instead of a looking glass for those looking for symetry) because she was channeling her wilderness SW persona, OR... Was that maternal instinct kicking in? Remember, the most dangerous place in the world to be, is between a mother and her child.

But the opinion changing moment for me was about a minor character. Up until now, I always viewed EQ's dad as a sympathetic character. A guy who tried looked out for the best of his daughter and tried to keep some good in her. And I even felt bad at what he went through to enact the curse. Yeah... Not so much. The way he turned his back on Jefferson and walked through the portal without even a second's hestation. ZERO sympathy here any more.

Okay, that makes sense. It seems like it would have fit more for the Queen of Hearts to hold everyone's heart and for Regina to have some other power.

Just watched last night's episode and loved it! I was hoping Jefferson would stick around as he is pretty nice to look at!

Quick question......I just went to ABC.com and they have photos from "Hat Trick" and show pictures of August at Jefferson's mansion.....but I did not see this during the show. Did I fast forward through something I shouldn't have??

You're right -- It's really weird that most of the 7 pictures are of August! Makes you wonder if there was a storyline that got cut for time or something? They're used to the amount of copy that makes an hour TV show (or 44-minute TV show), so I don't imagine that would happen. Just odd.

I was wondering whether Jefferson might reappear. If he's in Wonderland, the Queen of Hearts could have the ability to send him back to Storybrooke (or to the door room) -- he was asking her to send him back, so it seems she'd have the power (and what was with the veil? Made me wonder if it was Rumple!).

Regina burned up her fathers heart in the fire to enact the curse. When Regina put the mushroom in the box black smoke came out and turned into her Dad. Maybe all the Queen or hearts had to do is trap the smoke from the fire and that trapped his essence. Or maybe Regina did it herself and the Queen of Hearts store it. Regina did sy something of hers ended up in Wonderland and she wanted to get it back.

I would hope that the mushroom doesn't work outside wonderland. If it did Regina could hve waited to put it in the box allowing Jefferson to go home but she didn't but then again she might just be evil enough to have done it on purpose preventing him from going home.

He could have gone anywhere. Jefferson said there are many worlds all of them as real as Storybrook. Some with magic and some with out. The mirror door was wonderland (through the looking glass) it make sense that the other doors go to these other worlds he mentions.
I don't think Emma has to believe for her magic to work. She was only humoring him when she made the hat but it seems it actually worked. Pretty impressive millinery skills for a first hat I thought. ;) The time we saw him use the hat they jump through and the hat was on the floor in the door room. What we don't know if what someone would have seen in Fairytale land after he jumped through. The hat may have also remained there as the other end of the portal. The funny thing is if that's the case Emma threw the hat in her car. If he returns guess where he will appear?

This was my thought, also the hatter mentioned about not eating things in wonderland.

I doubt it as the hat leads to other worlds.

I still think each door leads to one of the many different world Jefferson mentions when he's talking to Emma and that only the mirror door goes to wonderland.

That's what I thought too. Snow knew how to kick butt and MM natural instict kicked in when fighting Jefferson.

I wonder if we will see anyone else who remembers. Jefferson was devestated by his seperation from his daughter, Belle was devestated by her loss of Rumple and they both remember...coincidence?

I assume that Emma's power for discovering lies works when she's asking a direct question. She asked him if he was all right and he said he was. So, he wasn't lying. He did limp and then she insisted to help him.

Oh, and was I the only one who just wanted to spend more time in Wonderland?

Interesting that those who remember are somewhat imprisoned. Jefferson said that he was trapped in his house but, obviously, he was able to get out to kidnap MM and jump in front of Emma's car.

MM didn't know who Jefferson was and neither did Emma. Obviously SB isn't as small as we seem to believe.

If Paige is in Henry's class then at least MM should know her. Her name.... is she a "Paige" in the book? Or, when Jefferson finally makes a magical hat, will her page in the book go missing?

good point

Did everyone notice how Jefferson's neck had the scar from having his head cut off? It appeared that Emma noticed it in the room before MM kicked him out of the window. Also, at the end when she borrowed Henry's book, it was quite clear. I desperately wanted her to turn the page!!!

I too am confused by the sequence of Regina's father showing back up. I am okay with the stories being told in random sequence, but since Snow and Charming's story is told sequentially, it would help if the queen's is also!

Did Jefferson actually say Neverland in the same sentence as Wonderland?
