Once Upon A Time

Well I'm happy that we now know for sure that Mr. Gold knows that he is Rumple. I think the EQ is still the only one that knows the whole truth because she knows that Belle is still alive bit Rumple doesn't and I think that will play a big part at some point.

Okay, so the cup "chip" is his son right? I know that he will find out where she is and why sooner or later, I can't wait!

It was awesome!
Especially the end.
Confirms what I thought all along; that Mr. Gold knew what was going on all along!

Noticed a few funny references.

When Rumple is yelling into the mirror, the tapestry that is reflected has a unicorn lying inside a fence. That tapestry is in Harry Potter (its actually in the queue for WWOHP at Universal).

Also the flower van is named Game of Thorn's (Game of Thrones)

And finally when the EQ is confronting Rumple at the end, isn't that MIckey's sorcerer hat behind the EQ?

Geez, this whole show is an easter egg.

Thank you for these! I missed tonight's show due to ER visit with dd, she is fine, passed a kidney stone. Anyway, I will watch tomorrow but I have a question. Why was Mr. Gold buying duct tape and rope? :confused3 Also what happened at the end that was so great? Please share, this is killing me. :rotfl2:

Well we got the answer on how the dark curse will be broken - it will be with a kiss - as stated by the EQ during tonight's episode "Every curse can be broken with true loves kiss". So the big mystery is - who will Emma fall in love with that will be then one that helps her break the curse. Emma is not one to fall in love easily so this will be an interesting unveiling

It was also great to see the reference to Chip from the Disney version of beauty and the beast.

And it looks like its gonna be an all out war now that Regina knows that Gold is Rumple.

I gotta say I loved this episode!

Add me to the list of those that  this episode.

I was thinking that the curse would be broken by the EQ finding true love.

I don't understand why Regina didn't know that Gold was Rumplestilskin. Doesn't she know who everyone else is?

Regarding Chip being Rumple's son, would that make Mrs. Potts his former wife?

I went back and watched it, and I'll be darned...Mickey's sorcerer hat!! During the broadcast I was trying study the tapestries as I figured they were depcitions of things to come or of things that had already happened. Most were too out of focus or went by to quickly for me to figure out what the story was. It is cool that unicorn one is in the Harry Potter queue.

I also noticed the Gepetto parent dolls, and missed those the first time around. I noticed he had a sword on display, and I wonder where he procured that?

The name of the florist shop on the van is cool. I wonder if it is meant as an homage, or the creators way of thumbing their noses and sticking up for Damon Lindelof after all the hubub with George R.R. Martin over the LOST finale. I can't imagine it is the latter, but if so, fellas...time to let it go. I'm sure the must be fans of the book and/or show.

Anyone else notice it started snowing when David and Mr. Gold were speaking about love in the pharmacy? They must have been shooting on location rather than on a set, right? It was so strange b/c evertime they cut to David you could see it coming down, but in the last shot when Mr. Gold leaves...no snow. At first I thought I just imagined it, but on the rewatch..nope snow during the scene.

O.M.G. Was this an awesome episode!! Just finished watching and tucking in the kiddos, so I had to post that before I go back and read everyone else's posts. It can ruin my perspective to read other people's perspectives sometimes! Next to the Graham episode, this might have been one of the best.
It was too much like watching Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith though... even though you know it isn't going to end well you still hold out a little glimmer in your heart that it might.

One note too- (and if this has been brought up, I apologize as I haven't read the thread today- I didn't want any East Coast spoilers!)
The end of tonight's episode really laid out the battle going on between Rumpelstiltskin and the Evil Queen. Now the battle that ends the curse is supposed to be between good and evil, right? So this one looks like the battle between Evil and Slightly Less Evil. Or Only Evil With the Best of Intentions. :)
So much to think about!!!

Regarding Chip being Rumple's son, would that make Mrs. Potts his former wife?

My take on it: She does know. She was verifying that he knows. It makes her very vulnerable since she is sworn to do whatever he asks, so long as he says please. She knows that he remembers who he is, what she's done, and that he can make her do things with the magic word.

I believe she knew full well who he is, she was just testing him. Rumpelstiltskin has a way of twisting his answers in a way that he doesn't give you any answer at all.
Also, I will head up the official "I don't think the chipped cup is Rumpelstiltskin's son" club. I think it is more of a reminder of the one who did love him. Or as a connection to her. Remember back in Archie's episode when Archie brought Rumpelstiltskin all of the things he had pilfered, he gave him a list of the names of the former owners of the items. So there might be a significance to having an item and knowing who it belonged to. Kind of like the compass?

Noticed the puppets and Mickey's hat, along with Cogsworth and Lumière (on the table behind the banquet table when Belle sits on it).

I noticed the sword and wondered if it was the one that controlled the curse. I also noticed a crown in the cabinet where he kept Chip. Why would Rumple have a crown?

I'll have to go back and watch for the snow. I didn't notice that.

*Jinx* :lmao:

I agree about the cup. There's no indication any of the furniture are people, and Rumplestiltskin's family was shown in the episode where he killed that guy with the dagger.

I noticed the "please" and laughed when he asked Regina to have a seat "please." She walked over and it looked like she wasn't going to do what he asked and then she finally sat on the arm of the sofa.

The moment when Rumple said his name actually gave me goosebumps. Then he called her "your magesty." Oh, it is ON now!

Great episode!

Loved that. DD and I were cheering for him (is that weird?) when he said "please" to her in the beginning on the street.

Love, love, love this episode!!! Loved Chip, Lumiere and Cogsworth (and those finally got my husband to pay attention to the show). Loved the reference to the old beggar woman who gave him the single rose.

Definitely EQ knew who he was. I think she was just confirming that Mr. Gold knew everything as well. Up to this point I don't think she was sure. As EQ, she knew the value of the chipped cup as his connection to his lost love so as Regina the only way she could confirm was to gauge his reaction to losing the cup.

I love Mr. Gold/Rumple. What a great character!

Interesting. I took it the other way. I thought that the Queen will fall in love again and kiss and break the curse.

Okay, so the cup "chip" is his son right? I know that he will find out where she is and why sooner or later, I can't wait!

As PPs have mentioned, I don't think chip is his son. When Belle broke the cup, he seemed a little nonchalant about it. If it was your kid and somebody dropped him/her and broke an arm, you wouldn't be, "It's only an arm". I think the cup is all he has left of Belle, and that's what makes it so special.

And finally when the EQ is confronting Rumple at the end, isn't that MIckey's sorcerer hat behind the EQ?

I noticed it ... sort of... I remember seeing it and thinking, "Oh, that looks like Mickey's sorcerer hat." And then completely not making the connection that in fact it might be Mickey's Sorcerer Hat!

I didn't. But DW did. She's like, "Hey, wasn't it snowing before?" and I'm like, "What?" :lmao:

:headache: D'Oh! I forgot all about that. I noticed that when he asked her to sit that she seemed kinda abrupt about it. I just shook it off thinking I was reading too much into it. I completely forgot about the 'please' thing. :sad2:
