Once Upon A Time

Rewatching from the beginning. I love this show and everytime I watch I see something new.

Anyone else notice the confirmation that Cinderella's prince and Charming are in fact related? When Rumplestiltskin mentioned he was looking for the King's family's Fairy Godmother!
I know how trailers can be purposely misleading, so I am not sure that Graham is going to be the one to kick the bucket. I'll keep an open mind for next week!

I totally agree, I think it Mr. Gold/Rumple who knows that going on. I know everyone else thinks it Regina.

That would be fun if Dr. whale is Monstro LOL

They way Regina and Charming wife were talking it didn't seem like Regina was paying her to be his wife or anything

Didn't Regina also tell her that she lost someone once too? Sounded like she was maybe refering to whoever Snow took from her.

I'm also wondering if Rump didn't put some sort of spell of charming so we would be willing to go back to his wife

I'm confused on the whole "memory" of his wife and the pictures and stuff. I thought he came over to Storeybrook in a coma from the fight at the last moments of Fairytale. So maybe it is some kind of spell, but where did the pictures and stuff come from? Wasn't she showing him pictures of them together.

She did say that but I don't think she remembers the past. In the opening it says only ONE remembers, I believe it's Mr. Gold/Rump

For the most part I agree with that. That's what I kind of think too. But then they throw in the comments like that and it makes me wonder. I imagine they will keep making us go back and forth for awhile.

I think the windmill was used to jog his memory - that Regina sent him to Gold's shop on purpose so that he would remember enough to go back to Catherine.

When he first saw the windmill, DS thought he had seen it earlier in the show at the farm Charming was living at with his mother. But, we couldn't rewind on the TV we were watching (DH had the good one for football ) so we couldn't check and he began to doubt himself. Does anyone know where/ if we saw a windmill earlier in the episode. :confused3

I also suspect that most, if not all, of the things that we see in Gold's shop have significance to people's stories. I was wondering abou the glass mobile...

I'm trying to figure out if I'm remembering this correctly, but towards the beginning of the episode, didn't Henry tell Emma that because of David's/James' coma, he wasn't affected by the curse yet? And that he needed to remember Snow before he started being affected by the curse. So, his fake wife puts something in his head about the windmill in the front of their house, and he sees it at the pawn shop, which in turn probably just means that the curse is starting to work on David/James now, not necessarily that another spell was placed on him. That's what I'm beginnning to believe anyway.

Yes. I think since David/Jame's was in the coma, he wasn't affected by the curse yet. However, he still had amnesia caused by the coma. I imagine that even if there had been no curse, he still would have had amnesia in Fantasyland. So is Storybrooke, he had 2 sets of memories that were trying to come back, the curse memories and his real memories. So it was kind of a race between the 2 over which one would come back first. Because of his feelings for Mary Margaret, the real memories were winning out at first. But somehow, Gold triggered the supressed curse memories with the windmill, maybe my hypnosis? So the curse memories won in the end.

Last night was a great episode.

I am a bit confused though.... Regina and Catherine seemed to bond early in the show. Do they know each other from Fairytale Land?

I still dont know what happened to EQ to make her curse everyone. I thought she loved Prince Charming and felt Snow took him away; but now I am not so sure because he was going to marry Catherine before he met Snow.

When David's mother told him that she found a wife for him, could that be EQ?

Also, King Midas mentioned something about King George, is this another kingdom, can EQ be involved there?

So confused and loving it!!!!

I was wondering if maybe the EQ is the Queen who couldn't have children with the King? If I'm remembering correctly the King says "the Queen is gone now" or something like that, not that she's dead.
Of course I guess that wouldn't explain how Snow ruined her life...unless Snow is her daughter and her labor with Snow is what caused her to not be able to have children, or some sort of deal she made with Rumple after she gave birth to her. (since he is fond of making deals involving peoples babies.)

I don't think whatever happened between EQ and Snow has anything to do with Charming since when he captures her in the woods he asks her why the Queen wants her dead and if she ruined the Queen's life and Snow replies yes. He didn't know anything about it.

Maybe King George is Cinderella's FIL??

Ok, I forgot that part with Snow (that the EQ wanted her dead before Charming came along)

Do we know why yet or is that the mystery. I want to know just as much as I want to watch it unfold.

I dont like Dr. Whale, he seems to be working with Regina, or he is just playing with Snow for the heck of it.

I totally agree that Mr. Gold knows exactly what is going on and that Regina had him bring Davids memory back of his life with Catherine (even if its a fake memory).

Next weeks show looks even better than this weeks!!!!

She had pictures of them together. I guess that threw me. If he came over in a coma, then where did the pictures come from? Were they created by the curse somehow?

I was wondering about the pics, I wonder if Rump can change into other people when he needs to

I just remembered in the Grimm Version of Snow White, there is a Queen who can't have children. She is working with a needle and a bird fly's by and surprises her (Snow in Once upon a time was hanging a birdhouse in the last episode) and she pricks her finger. When she see's the drop of blood in the snow she wishes for a child with skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and ebony hair, and soon after she gives birth to Snow White, but she dies as a result. Could that be the Queen that couldn't have kids with the King?
That would mean that EQ later falls in love with that King...

Oh, Rumple/Mr. Gold definitely knows what's going on. Notice how he said, "Charming" to David/James in the pawn shop and James was like, "What?", and Mr. Gold quickly commented on the unicorn windchimes thing he was looking at. He also made sure that James saw that windmill to jog his fake memory. He's definitely working with Regina/EQ in my book.

I also wonder if Dr. Whale isn't Monstro. I thought that a few episodes ago.

Those unicorn windchimes were above baby Emma's crib in the first episode.

I was wondering if that was the case but didn't remember for sure. That explains why it seemed like they were familiar to him.

I wasn't sure how the windmill worked either but after reading everyones input here, I do believe that he had two sets of memories (the fairytale ones and the one implanted in him by the curse) and it has been a battle inside him to see which ones come out first.

I'm also glad that they confirmed that the "fake" wife was the same girl that he was in the carriage with when he met Snow.

In the fairy tale, Midas' daughter seemed really irked that someone slayed the dragon -- almost as though she never expected anyone to meet the challenge. I wouldn't be surprised if she is in love with someone else, and if the Storybrooke wife has a guy on the side?

A post a few pages back made me think about the story of King Midas and his daughter. I always thought he turned his daughter into gold, and I'm wondering if that actually happened in the Fairy Tale realm, and that's how James gets out of marrying her and gets to marry Snow White instead. Of course, that wouldn't explain why she's in Storybrooke though, unless the EQ somehow brought her back for her own purposes, like keeping Snow and James apart. This show is so fun to ponder about, lol.

I'm loving reading all of your thoughts! I was really distracted by my DD last night and you all help me be prepared.

Does it (slightly) bother anyone else that Rumple is involved in EVERY character's story? I think he's an awesome actor and obviously the glue that holds it all together, but it's annoying me that he shows up in every single situation.

I also don't want to believe that the Sheriff will be the one to die, simply because it would be so obvious. How annoying would it be to get his whole story and kill him off in one episode?

Not that I really care, I still love the show.

No, I think it important for Mr. Gold to be in all the storylines, he the main character or one of the main ones.
