It seems like everything that could go wrong has. Plus my BIL has moved in with us and we have had to readjust the budget.

The past few months have been unreal with unexpected issues and expenses... seems like we've all been hit by this bug... :sad1:

But that has meant that this vacation is even more important to us all! :)

I personally blame the tornadoes from the end of April... that started a long winding down hill road of one thing after another... and we're still struggling to get out of it all.

4 weeks from today and we head down to Florida... then spend Friday night and Saturday night in the Orlando area and then it's off to the port on the Sunday morning... Can't wait! :cool1:

Is anyone else obsessed with the Port Canaveral webcam (http://portcanaveralwebcam.com/) like I am? I've been watching for the past month...and our son keeps asking me about it. He wants to know what the ships are doing and which ones are in port. But, it's been down for the last week for maintenance and it's driving me nuts! :rolleyes1

We are having issues here too. Just found out the dmil is not allowed to travel for at least 6 months which means that they are not going with us! :sad1:She is home and feels so much better and really wants to go.
Gotta contact TA to see when to cancel them off ressie, thinking later rather then sooner so they can't charge us a higher rate for the kids being bumped up to the 2nd passenger instead of the 3rd.:confused3

So now I have to cancel and rebook our hotels for the drive down and back as my dfmil booked 2 rooms with his AAA discount and we paid him for ours. Now I have to get $$$ back from them and rebook and pay a higher rate as one of our kids was sleeping in their 2 queens room(may have to find a new place to stay so we can put 5 in a room which means more money).

Only 2 paychecks left and they told dh no overtime! Plus my minvan that we are driving down to Fl has to be inspected and it's check engine light is on. We are fixing our front porch roof tomorrow(part of it blew of in a storm) and that'll be $200-300.
I had a stomach virus the past 2 days and lost out in babysitting money.:scared1:

Thinking this vacay is gonna kill me before we get to go on it.

Attention cruisers and cruisettes 29 more days to go. :scared1:

We are going to have the best vacation ever! We've all worked so hard to get there! Yep, I am depressed too over the Port Canaveral web cam being down. I watch it every Thursday!

That's a great idea! I'm sorry your in-laws won't be able to join you. I guess that gives you a reason to book another cruise though, right? ;)

Oh loveybydesign, I am sorry your dmil isn't going to be able to go. I am still praying that she continues to get better each day. I am sure it must be very stressful for you and your family to get everything together for the vacation. Let us know if we can help you with anything.

I just returned from Orlando for a business trip, but no time to get away to Disney or even shopping! I saw a HUGE outlet mall on the way to dinner one night. No one wanted to stop! I kept craning my neck to see if I could see anything from our hotel (Marriott World Center), but all I could see was the Planet from Planet Hollywood. I was traveling home on Thursday and turns out I sat next to a family returning from their cruise on the Dream! They LOVED it!! She said NOT to miss the Aquaduck (she was probably about 70 years old!) The food was amazing, the ports just awesome. She really loved Nassau! (She bought two diamond rings!) She also said the shows were fabulous. She did say the late seating was too late for her...eating that late gave her a heavy feeling. We have the late seating, so I am bit worried, but I'll get over it! :goodvibes

I can't believe we we only have 4 more Fridays. YIKES! Have to finalize my FE gifts, help the DBF finish his clothes shopping, lose 10 more pounds (like that's going to happen!), and figure out what I'm going to bring!

I have been considering packing my luggage lol! Maybe this weekend!:rotfl:

I am now totally in "packing mode".... now the case not only has door magnets but an inflatable dolphin, beach ball and snorkel masks:yay::yay:... almost finished packing I reckon!:lmao:

Oh Karen, that made me laugh so hard! Thank you!:rotfl:

Kristen

Then I'm sure you'll love my inflatable dolphin comment above ;) ... if it wasnt true I'd think I was crazy:crazy2:::yes::

Seriously though,... what does it say about a person if the first thing they pack are door magnets and a dolphin:lmao::lmao: ... yes folks, you're all travelling with a crazy woman!!!:dance3:

We've got two boxes to ship. One to the ship and one to the hotel. It's just too much to pack. Although Southwest does allow one carryon per person, I just don't feel like lugging all that stuff through the airport! I hope to finish up everything this weekend! I am in the wrapping stage.

I think I am getting Garden Grocer too! I figure it's gonna cost us $40 anyway for the resort mugs and about $60 if we order snacks, water, and soda from Garden Grocer so why not? The water we can bring with us on the ship.

P.S. We need at least one more person to vote on this poll so we can finalize our plans!

WOW !!! We only have 21 days to go till we leave for the world and I think I'm starting to panic.
My hearts beating fast and the next 3 weeks are going to fly by because I'm so busy between 2 jobs helping to plan a baby shower were having on October 1st. Yes my first grandchild could be here while I'm gone if she goes early. I hope not. She's due November 1st. (Didn't they know I had a trip planned.) I've had this planned with our group of 28 for a year and a half. I can hardly believe were almost here.

Suitcases are out and I've started gathering things and I'm sure it will all be fine.

Prayers go out to the families those who won't be sailing with us.

See you all soon

28 Days To Go.

Agreed. :grouphug:

I'm so excited to see that some of you are packing! I have my suitcases out and have been throwing things in there that I know we're not gonna need until we go-like swimsuits, Crocs, etc. I'm checking through all the boys clothes now too to make sure they have enough decent clothes to bring. Lots to do, lots to do...

:banana:We are so excited to be going on our first Disney Cruise and first cruise for the kids - son age 6 & daughter 11. Ordered our fish extender off etsy. Now where do we get some cool magnets for our door???
Counting down the days!

Well, officially took dmil and dfil off the cabins.:sad1:
Now time to panic and finish all the stuff I didn't get done due to stress and the stomach flu!

It was very hard to call the TA and tell him to take them off. I have so much to do as we leave Oct. 8th!
Still have to finish FE gifts, make shirts and pillowcases and pack! Will be much harder to pack now as we were planning to put come of our things in dfil's minivan(he has a grand we have small one) plus the kids were gonna alternate taking turns riding in their car so now I have to cram 3 kids and all our stuff for 2 weeks into our small base model minivan.:confused3

Does anyone know:

1. Which day is the Pirate night?

2. Do we have one night that is more formal for dinner?

3. What does everyone wear to the dinning room...is it casual?

Thanks for your help
Carol

Hi Carol

The 3 and 4 day cruises are a lot more casual than the 7 day ones... no formal and semi formal on them.. I'll just be wearing a summer dress each evening and hubby some casual trousers and a shirt or polo shirt. Son the same as his Daddy, but will probably wear long smart shorts instead of trousers. I believe the enchanted garden is the smarter of the restaurants.

I have read on here that lots of people wear the longer style shorts to dinner, and jeans also (my hubby will want to wear shorts once he sees others in shorts after the first night!)... his attitude (due to the rubbish weather we have in England) is.. "If its hot... I wear shorts!":rotfl2: We're sooooo used to rain over here that we all take any and every opportunity to wear shorts:rotfl:

Quite a few people dress up for pirate night - we'll be in pirate t shirts and ...yes, you guessed it...SHORTS!:lmao:
