Once Upon a Christmastime! A Nov. 2010 PTR! *Update 12/12, Disney Blues, pg 61! :( *

MK is so pretty decorated for fall! :cloud9: We always start out in Tomorrowland at MK. :thumbsup2

I'm glad to hear you preferred TL to BB. We're planning on doing a water park for the disneymoon and I'm leaning towards TL. I tend to hear that BB is better though, so I'm glad to know there's someone out there who likes TL more!

We are like you and Brandon...we are way past water parks. Mark said if they had elevators to get to the top to go down the slide, he might consider it. Our favorite was always Typhoon Lagoon -- loved the Tidal Wave pool and, of course, the Lazy River.

Yeah I wasn't a big fan of Blizzard Beach. :confused3 I thought I would be, but nope! I do like the lazy rivers and the wave pool was fun, but I'm happy just hanging out in the resort pool! :fish:

I'll send you a PM :)

Ok, now I have to go, you might as well just tell us all!!! :rotfl: :cool1:

It is really pretty decorated for Halloween, it was totally unexpected too, I had no idea they decorated so early back then!

I definitely liked TL better than BB, but I guess it depends on the kinds of slides you like. BB has the bigger, faster ones, but I just don't think those are fun! TL has the regular old slides you remember from water parks when you were a kid (at least I do, anyway) AND it has the Crush N Gusher, which is SO much fun! The wave pool is fun too, and I think TL is just prettier, it's like a tropical island!:woohoo:

Oh, I love my crocs...just not the mary jane kind anymore! After that trip, I stopped wearing the mary janes and only wear the classics now, and I rotate those with my Teva mush flip flops and either sneakers or Uggs! I will still get the occasional blister but it's nothing like 08...my feet were covered in blisters!

I have 2 pairs...the Mickey ones and a pair of regular black ones (the originals). The black ones are great, I wore them for my whole trip last year...but the Mickey ones gave me blisters so I've been afraid to wear them again!

My morbid curiosity is getting the best of me. I need to know!!

Mine too! I don't eat them, so I don't care!

I'll send you a PM :)

Me too, please!

All caught up again. First of all, great job on loosing another 2 1/2 pounds.:thumbsup2

Loving the flashback trip! So funny to see what you did before you knew what you were doing at disney, before the dis. No dining plan? No photopass?:rotfl2: 2 years ago we didn't even stay on property!(gasp)

Your MK pics are getting me so excited. 6 weeks and 2 days until we are on our way, yay!

Blisters on the feet, not a good thing. Hope going barefoot at the waterparks helped.

After a break from the parks on Wednesday, we returned to MGM on Thursday, 9/25! I know we did the Muppets 3D show

nina081.jpg

And then probably wandered around a little where I'm guessing I told Brandon to sit on one of the New York street stoops to take a picture

nina083.jpg

:rotfl2:

I'm guessing we also went on ToT a few more times!

nina085.jpg

Oh, and this was the one and only time we took a picture with a character, Donald Duck, which is in the beginning of my PTR, but here it is again if you don't feel like going back to see it

nina080.jpg

I felt so stupid taking pictures with characters that trip, I don't know why! :confused3 I really regret not taking more!

After MGM we went to the Boardwalk. I read all about the Boardwalk in my guide book and I wanted to see it, and we had lunch at the ESPN club. It was good but nothing special. That was when Brandon's mom called him and told him someone he used to work with died, which upset him for the rest of the day. He felt terrible that he was on vacation and couldn't make it to this guy's funeral. :sad2: :sad1: I think his mom could have waited to tell him when he got home, but that's how she is. :confused3

After the Boardwalk, we returned to MK that night to see Wishes. I didn't know about the Halloween party back then and didn't understand why MK only had fireworks on certain nights, because I remembered them being every night when I went when I was a kid!

Some MK pics that I like:

nina092.jpg

nina098.jpg

Wishes! This was my first time seeing Wishes and I cried during it, it was amazing!!! :lovestruc

Blurry, but I love this picture!

nina104.jpg

nina108.jpg

nina116.jpg

Quite possibly my favorite Wishes picture I've ever taken:

nina118.jpg

:lovestruc

If I didn't mention it, we LOVED Wishes! I just wish I didn't play around with my camera so much to try to get good fireworks shots, I had such a crappy camera and couldn't get great pictures so I just kept messing with it. I think this year I'm going to take a few pictures and just enjoy the fireworks!

Well, that's the end of Day 5! The next day will be our last day in the parks, I believe we went to Epcot, back to MK for a while, and then ended at Epcot because they had magic hours until 12am! So I will do the last day tomorrow and then decide if I'm going to do a November 09 flashback or not...I want to, but at the same time I don't because I'm going again this November and I want to write a TR when I get home so I don't to bore you guys! :confused3 Maybe I'll just do highlights from that trip or something, I'm not sure!

Have a great night!

OH YES, one more thing-my poor DH is back to working nights and he's already miserable and hating life right now, and he just called me a few minutes ago and said "well, I'm about to say the words you've been waiting your whole life for me to say". Of course I asked what, and he said "Is it time for Disney World yet?" :dance3: :cool1: :rotfl:  :woohoo: Glad I'm not the only one who's anxious to go! :rotfl2:

LOVE IT!!! They eventually get it.

I'm the same way, I'm afraid to wear mary janes again...and not just to Disney, but anywhere! I have this really dark purple pair of mary jane crocs that I got last summer and wore them maybe twice! I love them, they're so cute, but I'm just so afraid of getting blisters that I will probably just end up throwing them away!

My regular black crocs have become work shoes, they are so worn out on the bottom...I need a new pair before I go in November!

Thanks! I'm guessing I gained that 2.5 pounds back this week...I don't know what's wrong with me, I've been starving and not exercising. It's just so hot I don't feel like doing anything, plus my job is stressing me out lately! I gotta get back on track tomorrow!

LOL it's so funny how much you learn from the DIS! I considered staying off property in 08 but what got me to stay at ASMu was the extra magic hours...I just love them!

Wow, can't believe you're going in 6 weeks! That will fly by!

Yeah the blisters were NOT fun...my poor feet were destroyed for a couple of weeks after we got home too! :sad2:

LOVE IT!!! They eventually get it.

:woohoo: When he said that to me, it seriously made my night, I was in such a bad mood before, and now I've snapped out of it, just because I know he's excited to go! I knew he was all along, he just doesn't like to show it like I do! Next thing you know, he'll be making his own countdown calendar! :rotfl:

Hi everyone! I'm going to finish up my little flashback for my 08 trip tonight! When this is finished, in a few days I will probably just do some highlights from my November 09 trip, because I don't want to ruin anything we do this year for when I write my TR after we get back!:cool1:

Friday 9/26

We started the day at Epcot, around 10 again I think, which is the time the first picture I took was taken. I know the first thing we did was head to Soarin to get FP's, because I kept reading in my guidebook that Soarin FP's run out by noon and to get one early! After getting a FP, I think we did The Seas with Nemo and then Turtle Talk with Crush. That was the one and only time we did Turtle Talk! It was cute, but I don't really need to do it again until I have a kid! :confused3

I have a few pictures from The Seas of dolphins and fish and everything, but they're terrible so I'm not even going to put them up here! Here are my 2 other Epcot pictures from this entire trip:

nina130.jpg

nina131.jpg

That was the entrance to Epcot, to look like the tables at the mad tea party in Alice in Wonderland, for the Food and Wine fest which was starting that night, which again, we knew nothing about! :confused3 I loved walking in to Epcot because they were playing the Alice in Wonderland soundtrack and that is one of my favorite Disney movies!

Oh yes, we eventually rode Soarin that morning using our FP's and I loved it! Brandon is not a huge fan of it, he likes it but doesn't get what the big deal is. I, on the other hand, could ride Soarin over and over!

After Epcot, we went back to MK for a while :)

nina136.jpg

I'm guessing we did Splash Mountain that day because I have a few pictures from Fronteirland:

nina138.jpg

I remember standing on this bridge and taking a picture of Brandon looking grumpy, so I told him "smile, we're in Disney World" and took the same picture again, with him smiliing:

nina141.jpg

I actually remember saying that to him! :rotfl: It's weird what little things stand out from certain trips, but you can't remember what attractions you went on! :goodvibes

One last MK picture:

nina143.jpg

That is where my pictures end! :confused3 We went to Epcot that night for extra magic hours, which is when Brandon made himself sick on Mission Space! We wanted to try it, but I was afraid of the orange side, so we tried the green side and it was fun! But he wanted to try the orange side, so he went on again by himself and I waited for him. When he came out, he said it wasn't much different from the green side, so I decided to be brave and try it, and I LOVED it! :cool1: Unfortunately, 3 times in a row was too much for Brandon! He felt really nauseous so we decided to walk around World Showcase, but it was so late by then, nothing was really open. I was really sad so I wanted to get a glass of wine, so we looked for a country that was still open and finally got a glass in Morocco. I remember crying as we were leaving, walking under Spaceship Earth, wondering when we would be back. :)

And so that's the end of our first trip together! It was a great trip, we had a lot of fun, but there was still so much to learn! Luckily by the time we returned in November 09, I had found the DIS and learned lots of things that made that trip even more amazing! :dance3:

Thanks for the flashback trip! I loved it! Isn't it funny to realize just how much you didn't know about WDW back in the day and imagining how different your trips could have been?! Looking forward to the 09 flashback!

Love reminescing through your past trip. BTW, the Splash Mnt. picture is so beautiful. It is funny how we remember the interactions and not so much what we do, but then again a smell can take you right back to a certain experience.

Sorry Brandon has to work nights, I know how hard that can be for both of you. Chris works shiftwork, and the nights are the hardest. It definitely makes vacations even better though. Glad Brandon is all ready for Disney now!;)

Don't be too hard on yourself about your week.:goodvibes

Those Wishes pics are amazing - especially that last one! :cloud9: I hate to hear your DH got sick on Mission: Space! Miguel is always trying to convince me to try the orange side but I'm just not brave enough. I'm afraid I would get sick if I did!

Still here...love the flashbacks! They have really amped up the fall/Halloween decorations since we were there in '06. It looked NOTHING like what they do now!

Aww, I cried the first time I saw Wishes too. Of course it didn't help that it was our last night there...:sad2:

I'm glad you liked it! :goodvibes It is weird how little I knew in 08, especially considering how I thought I was such an expert! We had a great time though, I wouldn't change anything about it, except maybe take more pictures!:)

Thanks! I like that Splash picture too, I love that whole area in Fronteirland!

Yeah, the working nights thing is obnoxious. :( I thought he had to work all weekend but it turns out he only has to work a few hours tomorrow so at least we have most of the 3 day weekend! Gotta start thinking about what I want to do for my birthday on Monday!

I don't think I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow...I think I'm going to give myself a free pass this week, like they do when you go to Weight Watchers meetings and just focus on next week. :rolleyes1

Thanks! My camera was terrible that trip, so I'm amazed I got any good pictures at all! :cool1:

And Brandon didn't exactly get sick on Mission Space, he just felt kind of nauseous...but he didn't actually throw up! So that's good! You should try the orange side someday, do it as you're about to leave Epcot for the day, just in case you don't feel good, you won't ruin the rest of your time there! But really, you should be fine as long as you look straight ahead the whole time! If you look around, you get disoriented and you start feeling weird!

Thanks! I just looked at the pictures of the decorations for Halloween this year, they look so pretty! I really hope I can go next October, I loved being there with the Halloween stuff everywhere!

I think everyone cries during Wishes! But seeing it your last night for the first time, OMG, I don't know how you did that! :rotfl: I don't think I would have been able to leave the next day, I'd need another week of Disney magic! :woohoo:

hahaha, I don't know how I did it either. Now I refuse to go to the MK our last night (last day is OK even though it's still sad but last night is a NO WAY). It's funny because my dad obviously remembers that...he'll always say how he knows I get upset if we go to the night shows late in our trip. :rolleyes1 What can I say, I'm a sap.

Wow - I just read your flashbacks from 08 and they were soooooooo much fun. What a lovely trip! I enjoyed all your pictures especially the one of splash mountain. Lovely!

I bet you guys can't wait until its time to leave! It will be here before you know it!

Ahh, I missed so many updates while I was working and going to bed at 9 pm every night! :rotfl:

I LOVED the trip flashback! The pic of you guys with Donald is one of my favorites! Although the bunny pic still holds the #1 spot! :goodvibes

I don't think I could end at MK either! Don't worry, I'm a sap too, I cry on my last day no matter where I am! At least when you have another trip to look forward to it's not quite as bad, but when you have no idea when you're coming back, it's hard!

Thanks, I'm glad you liked them! :goodvibes I absolutely cannot WAIT to leave! It's so close, but still so far! I'm so glad I have the DIS to keep me busy til then! :rotfl:

LOL, don't worry, do you know what a struggle it was for me to even do these updates every night? I was falling asleep at the computer...and it wasn't even like I did them late, it's just been so hot here again, which makes me tired, and I'm so bored without Brandon being here at night now, all I want to do is sleep! :upsidedow

Thanks, I like that Donald picture too, I hated it when we took it! :rotfl: I love our bunny pictures also, but I feel like I'm making a weird face with the bunnies, which is why I never use them for anything. I so wanted one of the bunny pictures to be my FB profile picture, but I look weird! Doesn't even look like me in one of those pictures! :rotfl2:

I will most likely do my 09 trip highlights tomorrow, I'm looking forward to reminiscing about that trip and going through all my pictures again, it was such an amazing trip! See you guys tomorrow! :faint:

Am I too late to join in?? We are taking our first trip Nov 30- Dec 10. I kinda wish we had chosen the same dates as you. First, we would have less days till it was trip time but we will be there the weekend of parade taping and also POP warner is at the end of our trip. Oh well. I am sure it will be a great trip anyway!

LOL no, never to late to join!!! :cool1::welcome:

I was going to do the week you were, but Pop Warner scared me off, but don't worry! I have heard that it is a great time to go, and that the Pop Warner crowds don't really have an impact on the park! And to just avoid MK the day of the parade taping and you will be fine! I wanted to go that week just to be closer to Christmas and to do the Candlelight Processional, but since we went this week in November last year, we just figured we would do it again! You will have a great trip, don't worry! :wizard:
