There we were... my family all at rope drop waiting for Adventureland to open. The CM from Indie came over to the rope to chat with the crowd and said I've got a question. My son piped up right away and said I've got an answer. (Smart alec!) The CM immediately zoomed in on him and said come here so under the rope he went. Then the CM-Gabe-said no everyone with you!, So off all 5 of us duck under the rope and go into a completely empty Adventureland about a half hour before the rope dropped! Gabe said he had something he wanted to show us...!!!!! He took us to Indie and spent the next half hour giving us a private tour taking us through the cue, sharing history of the props and ride and the all the details you might not notice hurrying thru the cue to the ride. All the lights were on and he was a wealth of information! When we got to the loading area, he sent us through the ride before the park even opened! When we finished the ride, he met us and walked us out. People were only just starting up the cue for their first ride of the day. Gabe gave us some old the vintage decoders that were handed out when Indie first opened then gave our family 2 special passes for going to the front of the line on any ride we wanted. We chose Peter Pan and Matterhorn! Gabe was so hospitable and personable and gave us such a wonderful once in a lifetime memory. Our smiles split our faces all day long! Of course we went on the ride again later that day and he was so glad to see us-he had another little something for us- he had sent out and had an Adventureland Eplorer certificate printed for us with our name and the date. What a day!!! I found an Indiana Jones pin with a dangling Indiana and got them for all of us to commemorate the special day we had and sent one to Gabe as a thank you from our family! It was truly an experience we all will never forget!

Totally cool! Random pixie dust is the best!

That's so cool! Indy is one of my favorite rides, so that would be totally awesome.

Also, a line is a queue. A cue is a signal for something to happen.

Awesome!!!! Your son will never forget the magic that Gabe showed you :) Love it

Amazing!!! Thanks, Gabe, from all of us DISers! I love stories like these. Thanks so much for sharing, Karenann!

What a wonderful story! I agree with a pp that Walt would be proud. This is what separates Disney parks from other parks.

What a way to start the day.. High 5 to your son for being so amazing... and to an equally amazing Gabe!

As a PS to this story, we met Gabe's trainer, a CM who worked with him for 11 years on Indie-she was his DL "mom". She was at the front of the queue for Thunder Mt , no line so we were just chatting, pin admiring etc and shared our early am experience with her. She was so proud of Gabe and the joy he gave us just like any mom would be!!! And yes I did e-mail a special thank you and shout out for Gabe to guest services.
Thanks everyone for enjoying
my memories with me!

What a great story and memory. I wonder if he was told to grab someone or if he was authorized to do that on his own.

I asked him if they do this every day and he said once in a while they take a family out of the rope drop area to to this. Wow- What a day to be there, huh?

What an amazing story - thank you for sharing. All too often we only focus on the negative that we forget about the special things like this. Lucky you!
