Hi everyone,
Well we found out from DH2B's neurosurgeon that he is going to have to have a certain procedure done due to his epilepsy problems. Because of this, we will not be able to get married until his surgery is complete. He has to stay on his parent's insurance (he has full coverage from them until age 25 or until he gets married) so he can have it paid for. Also because he has already maxed out his health insurance due to his constant hospital visits. I just feel like we've been on this constant roller coaster ride with all of this. We will actually still be going on our honeymoon, since we both agree we need to find a way to de-stress from all of this. It looks like we'll be having our wedding in 2006, or so. Right now of course that feels soooo far away. Any advice on how we can make the best out of this? We're even looking at having a custom wedding at Disney, so I guess we can start thinking about plans.

Thanks for listening!
Ashley

Oh Ashley, Not again!

I am sooo sorry you have had this twice now. I know it is no consolation but it will all come good in the end.

I hope your holiday to WDW will still be a memorable one, Just try not to dwell on the fact you should have been getting merried at the same time.

Hang in there. I know you have got to be about ready to pull out your hair, but it gives you more time to work out the little things that maybe you haven't had time to do. Hang in there we are all with you!

Ashley, I am so sorry that you’re going through all this. It sounds like you’re definitely making the right decision though—insurance is certainly important, especially for your DH2B.

I myself had a long engagement (22 months), and the time will pass more quickly than you might think. Perhaps you can busy yourself with planning all the little details and browsing through lots of bridal magazines. That’s what I did until the big day got closer.

Also, dreaming of a custom sounds like a great way to pass the time. You can have your wish book filled with lots of great ideas in no time!

Ashley - I am so sorry to hear that you have to cancel the wedding again. I hope that everything works out with your husband to be's health. And I agree with ead79, thinking of a custom wedding is a great way to pass the time, and the extra time will give you more time to save. When your wedding day does finally come, you'll appreciate it that much more.
I hope that you enjoy your vacation. Try not to dwell on the fact it should have been your honeymoon. Use it to plan all the fun things you will do on your real honeymoon! My best wishes to you and your fiance!

Aww Ashley I'm sorry honey that you're having to postpone (cancellation is too horrid a word ;)) your wedding. As much as I really enjoyed ploughing all my planning into my 8 month period between engagement and wedding I really think I would have enjoyed having more time to make choices and decisions for the big day so look at this as a positive thing :)

Thanks for the support everyone. We were talking about maybe making our trip into a site visit, but I think it's a little too early for me since I'm still a little sensitive to the fact that we are having to postpone.

Hang in there girlie! Everything will turn our PERFECT for you in the end. I think it is a great idea that you guys are still going on your honeymoon... Vaction is good!!!! With your school work and all, it will be nice to get away.

You are making the right decision! Insurance is very important!!

Good Luck and we cant wait to help you start planning again! Custom would be fun!

Again Ashley, and please forgive the cliche.....  it will all work out for you when the time comes. It's not your time now, but when it is...WATCH OUT GIRL! YOU'RE GONNA BE ON FIRE!!
Keep that head up and blessings to you always!

Denise :wave2:

Ashley, I am very sorry to hear this. I say enjoy your Pre-Honeymoon trip and enjoy the fact that when you get home you still have this wonderful Wedding to plan and look forward to. Keep your chin up. Everything always seems to work out for the best in the end.

Ashley,

I'm so sorry to hear your news. Your DH2B's health is much more important, though and I really hope his surgery's go well. If it makes you feel any better, we've postponed our Disney wedding until 4/07 (still not set in stone), so I'll be playing the waiting game with you.
