Onboard Wifi?

So...Question about data amounts. Our Castaway day is the same day as a Sunday football game. If we live streamed a game how much data does that normally run? And will it work on Castaway or do you have to be on the ship to use it?

The rule of thumb I've seen is 1GB per hour to stream standard definition video and 3GB per hour for HD video. At $89 per GB, that would be an awfully expensive football game to watch.

I've gotten the wifi to work on the family beach at CC but it was very spotty and slow. I definitely wouldn't try streaming video while on CC.

I guess DH will have to just deal with a Sunday with NO FOOTBALL. I told him he can go back on the ship for lunch. I'm not paying that much.

I watched Below Deck Med this summer (guilty pleasure), and they couldn't stream one on this multi-million dollar yacht where they were the only ones on the WiFi. I would NOT want to try and stream one on shippernet of a cruise ship.

Just so you know, often football games are shown in the sports bar.

Question...if we have an excursions booked at Cozumel and Grand Cayman, etc and free WIFI is included, do I need to notify my cell carrier that I'm traveling? Can I just hop on the WIFI? How does that work?
