I like the Mickey statue in the lobby, and tucking the kids into a porthole, and of course anywhere near the pool. My kids' smiles are the highlights of my pictures though. I just got mine back and they look soooooooooo happy!
Since we always go in December all the Christmas decorations are up. Tons of trees (including that huge one in the lobby) and wreaths to pose in front of. We always do quite a few veranda shots. The porthole you can sit in that is infront of animators palet is a cute photo. Always take at least one shot of breakfast on the deck. The mickey statue in the lobby is a good one as are the doors to lumeneires. My goodness we go through so much film It is such a bonus though at christmas as the ship is just gorgeous!
I took a couple of pictures of my son on the "secret" Deck 7 verandah with the sun setting. He is quite photogenic - I'm not.
Another locale I like is inside one of the mid-ship glass-enclosed elevators overlooking the lobby. Early morning tends to be a good time as most cruisers are not yet "out and about."
Looking back at my pictures, the ones I like the best are not what I would have thought. My DD4 stuffing her face with a famous Disney chocolate chip cookie at Castaway Cay with foliage in the background, a closup of my DS8 lying in the water in a miraculously empty Mickey's ear (you'd never know what it was unless you'd been there), DD again in a close up sleeping on my DH's shoulder on Formal night, exhausted from the activities. These are pictures I treasure more than any "posed" shots in front of traditional photo op places.
Just take lots of film or digital cards and snap, snap, snap. You are bound to get some great photos wherever you shoot. You might be surprised at your favorites too.
Some of my absolute favorite pictures of our Feb cruise were from an evening stroll we took on Deck 10 - we had second seating and it was about 6 or 7 pm & there was almost no one else up there.. the sun was hitting the smokestacks just right and my 3 year old and hubby were playing around.. it was a magical evening and it provided some really terrific pictures... them and the smokestacks with the decks empty behind them.. ooo!
be sure to get one on the stairs at the very aft of the ship leading from Deck 9 to Deck 10 (camera person on Deck 10 shooting down to the landing with the ship's wake behind the people on the landing)... that - and the one with my guys and the Disney Magic life ring (deck 9 aft)... may be my favorite pics...
and this is from someone who took 250+ pictures (most of them digital)... to scrapbook, of course!...
Have a blast... bring plenty of film (or just a great big card to dave those digital pics on!)..
