Thanks WebmasterMichelle!

Was just informed by my TA that I recieved the $50.00 on board credit!
The card has already paid for itself!
I'm gonna let DD use it for her pin collection!

Thanks again.

I saw the new post you made regarding the Disney Club Credit for 2003. I called DCL right away and received credit with no problem.

Several employers offer Disney Club Membership at reduced rates - 29.95. Ours comes in really handy in that we have a Disney Outlet close by that accepts the card as well as discounted merchandise. (Not to mention reduced rates at the resorts and on park passes).

Thnax again Michelle...

You're welcome, glad you got the credit! :) And thanks for giving me the opportunity to add some additional information that I received from celebrategoldens, a poster on this board:

The Disney Club Credit is NOT applicable if you have booked with a "group" rate. We booked thru AAA and were part of their "group" and we were denied the $50 Credit.

Just wanted to give that heads up to folks who are part of a group booking. :)

Will they honor it if you have the $200 on stateroom credit from booking onboard?

No, mjasp, the DC credit (like pretty much all the credits) is not combinable with any other credit, unfortunately.

Michelle,
I recently booked our 6/21/03 western cruise with dvc points. I have tried calling dvc member services and disney club member services and was told that they are not offering the credit for 03 cruises (i know they are-- at least for cash cruises). Any suggestions? Anyone else successfully book with points and get the credit?

Thanks.

Mary

Last year when we cruised we tried to get a stateroom credit (we were booked on DVC points) and we were told that there were NO credits issued for rooms booked on points. I don't know if that has changed, but that was our experience.

Now as for booking on points--has anyone heard anymore about booking another DVC point cruise onboard?

Are there certain sail dates that are valid for the on board credit?? If so does anyone know what they are?? Thanks in advance:)

Indymom, at the top of the board is the post about the Disney Club credit, updated for 2003, and that has the valid dates. :)

I just booked for July 5, 2003 on points and was told there was no onboard credit. I don't know the general rule, I do know that we got an onboard credit as part of the Fall Fantasy special last November when booking on points. SO that might have been a one time deal.

Was your credit for the 4 night Jan. 26 cruise? I hope I can get it too, because I haven't been successful getting the first time cruiser discount, for some reason. I called the DCL the other day and she said that she never heard of it and thought it was if I refer someone for their first time. Can anyone tell me? Thanks:rolleyes:

Is the credit $50 whether you are on the 4 day Wonder, or 7 day?

My Aunt got $25 new cruiser credit for our 4 day Wonder, but maybe she is better off with this.

Mrs. G, the credit should be $50 regardless but check to be sure it is offered on the 3- and 4-night cruises for next year; the wording makes it sound like it's only offered on the 7-night cruises and the land/sea packages.

IS it valid for the 7-night <I>cruises</I>? The wording in the 2003 Update in your thread near the top of the board reads: <B>"DCL is offering Disney Club members a $50 onboard credit on most seven-night land & sea packages . . "</B>. That sounds like it is only for "land and sea" and does <I>not</I> include 7-night cruises without land. But I am <I>hoping</I>!:bounce:

I know, it sounded that way to me too when I read it taswira, but I have been able to add it for regular 7-night cruises for 2003, so I THINK they do mean both. I'm just not sure on the 3- and 4-night cruises at this point.

I've been calling Disney every week to see if the club rates were out for 2003, and I finally got my rate for our hotel ($59 for All-Star Movies in January!). So, even though I didn't see it on this board yet, I figured the shipboard credit might be available, too. I called Costco, they called Disney, and I got it! I did NOT book the land/sea package, and we're going on the 4-day Wonder, but I got it!

So far, between the hotel, the credit, and our passes, I've saved over $200 with the Club. That's not even counting my trips to the Disney Store! (Where, among other things, I bought t-shirts while they were on sale for $7.50, got an additional 10% off, and am now almost done with my "souvenir list"! ;-) Less to bring home!)

AND I got the Disney Club through the Entertainment Book, and saved $10 off the membership.

I think that any money I've saved should automatically be applied to another cruise!

Ok, this is what I did. For first time credit I referenced "REF" for a $25.00 credit for the 4 day cruise ($50.00 if we were on the 7 day). Bought a Disney Membership last month 'cause Mary Waring had advised that they were giving a $10.00 credit to new memberships, for me this is a $15.00 savings due to our Cdn Dollar. After reading Michelle's post regarding Disney Club offering the $50.00 credit extended into 2003, called my TA who in turn called Disney but told her that the Tour Operator had to call. TA had Tour Operator call and I got the $50.00 credit but have to forfeit the $25.00 First Time Cruiser Credit!

Just remember Disney plays dumb unless you have the proper codes for their discounts. It's like pulling teeth! But be persistant. That $50.00 is like $75.00 plus savings for me!

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I did call DCL (who I made the reservations with) and they said that I can get my DC discount! :D But when I started to give my card number, I realized my card expires in Oct. (before the cruise date) and the TA told me to call back when my card was renewed. I called DC to see if I could just renew now and they said no, but they didn't know why DCL didn't honor my present card. So tomorrow, I'm going to try calling DCL again see what happens with a different person on the phone. Anyway, I should get my discount eventually and I want to thank you for being the one to enlighten me! ;)

Just this very minute got off the phone with DCL - Castaway Club CM regarding this for our 7 day cruise in June 2003. Had no problem. Simply told her I had read this info and would like to add it, she asked for card number and expiration date. Said it was added to the res but would I please call back with the new expiration date (ours expires 10/02) once I had renewed.

And while I had her on the phone I asked about dining times - her answer was that no decision has or will be made until after the trials expire end of Sept/beginning of Oct.
