Onboard deposit was never processed

I just got home from my cruise from a week ago. It looks like my onboard deposit was never processed as promised. Does anyone know who I can contact to inquire about what happened? This was on the Magic, I am not happy either as the long line and lack of confirmation happened from my 2018 cruise on the Magic too. The vacation planning desk had lines that were longer than Mickey Mouse, it was pathetic.

Do you mean you can't see the charge on your card or that you just haven't received an email?

I have never received an email, but my deposit was always processed, so I just phoned DCL for a confirmation number. I hope that's all it is for you, too. :(

I got off the Magic on July 21st and didn’t receive a confirmation after waiting a week so I used the general email address to email them and ask about it. The next day I got a phone message to contact them but they were closed so I was waiting until the next day. Before I could call back, I got the email confirmation of my placeholder dated July 31st (the day I contacted them).

I’m not sure if it was because of my email, but I did get a confirmation and an extra 10 days to use the placeholder.

European cruises attract seasoned DCL cruisers, that know they will sail again and therefore know to use OBB or placeholders, and to book those at the end of the cruise so they can book the next cruise as far away as possible. It is much less of a problem on Dream/Fantasy, especially now that they have installed the virtual line.

The real problem they have is managing placeholder bookings. I don’t think I’ve ever had one booking go smoothly, from actually having one booked, to charging it to the CC on file to receiving the email confirmation, without needing to call DCL.

^^ this, we have learned to put the placeholder in on the last day of the cruise, so we can have a few extra days when booking our next adventure.
We missed getting it for our Hawaii 2015 cruise by just a few days and had we waited till the end of our cruise, we would have been ok.
It does take a few days to get the email, they are busy with a lot of placeholders.
We take a picture when we drop it in the box on the last day, just in case. :-)

There is a virtual line on the magic. I used it in April :). I signed in using the navigator and it alerted me when it was my time to book.

I haven’t been on Magic for two years so I wasn’t sure if it was added there also. I would have thought that it would have taken care of the lines and crowding around the Future Cruises’ desk but, from OP’s post, it seems it didn’t.

It should have, but people still wait at the desk like it's a physical line. That area of the ship was packed this summer on the Fantasy.

When we were on the dream, they had a stack of forms at guest services where you just entered your (or your TA's) info and left the form with them, and they charged the $250 deposit to your room, and voila, you had a placeholder. No waiting in lines; and you could just check your room bill to see if it was processed.

Disney customer service got back to me and said they have up to 5 business days to process. Since I still have 2 days left, I guess I will worry at the end of this week.
