Onboard "booking"?

How does the placeholder work if you want to use a travel agent? Do you have to name the travel agent while onboard when you pay the $200?

I haven't done this yet since the new placeholder policy was introduced, but I suspect it is the same as the old dummy cruise as far as the travel agent is concerned. If you are traveling on a cruise that you booked thru the same travel agent you want to use for the placeholder cruise, you can have them named for that future cruise. If you did not use a travel agent for the current cruise (or want to switch to a different agent) I think you need to book with Disney directly and then transfer the reservation within 30 days.

You can book concierge onboard, and you do get the onboard credit. However, you don't get a lower deposit or 10% discount, and your deposit is non-refundable. Still, onboard credit is free money, so it's still worth doing.

When I cruised back in 2013, I was told i couldn't book concierge. I booked a normal room and then when to my TA and upgraded my reservation. Yes, I had to pay for the additional deposit and the 10% I lost but I still got what I wanted. I think I might book another cruise onboard and book concierge. Only way to go! Worth every dime
