Onboard booking discount for a cruise already booked

We booked a 7-day cruise for January 2004 but had to cancel at the last moment due to illness. We rescheduled it through DCL for next January with only a change fee and a small fare increase still left to pay. In the meantime, we booked a separate 4-day cruise for April 2004. While we are on the April cruise, if we ask them about applying the onboard booking discount and stateroom credit to our postponed 2005 cruise, what are the chances they would do it? The worst that could happen is they say no, and we would still go on the 2005 cruise anyway. Opinions? Strategy?

Unfortunately you cannot apply the onboard booking incentives to an existing reservation. It has to be a completely new reservation in their system to get the offers.
