DS will be 2.5 when we sail, 4night Dream. He has a lot of energy but can take some time warming hypo people.

What kind of activities do you suggest? Dance parties, etc?

Is there any good place during a deck party where he has room to move or play and want get bored? I assume, like wdw parades, ppl get to these things early.
Or is it possible to show up as they start and still find a fun place?

Who are hypo people and why does he warm them?
jk. He'll likely love the kids club, top deck has great fireworks view and less crowded during the parties.

Lol, warming up to.
Thanks, I'll keep the top deck in mind

We cruised on Fantasy with DS when he was 2 and 2.5. We did not use the nursery, but it did look nice if you want to try it out for a break. Our days were spent using the splash area (and the pool some as DS was potty trained by the 2nd cruise), going to the open house hours at the kids club, seeing characters, walking around on the decks, playing mini golf, going to the dance parties and other activities, watching movies. We were never bored and we didn't even do any shore excursions so we stayed on the ship the whole time. There is plenty to do to keep even very high energy kids entertained.

I did bring a couple of very small toys from home for DS (mainly some small cars). These were great for giving him something to play with in the stateroom when we were getting ready and/or just taking a break. Also there are lot of Disney & Disney Jr shows on demand on the TVs so you can enterain him in the stateroom as well if you want to rest for a bit. My son still talks about getting to watch Wreck It Ralph and getting or order room service late one evening when we couldn't get him to go to sleep since he had taken a late nap.

They have scheduled toddler time during the at sea days where they set up a ton of toys and have two cast members playing on the floor with the kids. The dance parties can be overwhelming (loud, strobe lights, soooo many kids), especially the character ones in the atrium; you can always watch from the balcony/deck above. Some of the crafts are too complex like origami, but some are age appropriate for toddlers. We made buttons...my daughter treasures her Sofia button! We used the nursery for nap time on each at sea day. Wake up with dis jr is awesome! He can always just stand next to you and do the dances if he is feeling shy. We had a really hard time getting our 2.5 year old out of the splash area. She would have liked to be in there all day.

There is a Wake Up with Disney Junior party at 8:30 am on sea days. I didn't go but I do know it's more than just watching TV. There are lots of character greetings, dance parties (they are awesome with a little one!), splash area, kids club open houses, etc., just check the personal navigator. It will be easy to stay busy!

wake up with disney junior is not watching tv...its just a cast member lead dance party for toddlers and preschool age kids that incorporates the dis jr characters. For example, they sing the "roll up the map" song from sharky and bones on jake the pirate with all the hand motions and dancing. the other sharky and bones i can remember them doing is "talk like a pirate." check them out on you tube before your cruise so your little one can really get into it. they also sing songs from Sofia and doc mcstuffins as well as the hokey pokey and stuff like that. Then at the end a character comes out and dances with them, goofy usually and jake on the pirate themed one. you can be in the first row off the dance floor (D lounge) if urs is too little to do the dances but still wants to participate.

We've done the wake up disney jr on our last cruise. Out daughter was younger then but still enjoyed them. This time next month when we go she will be all about them as she loves all the disney jr characters. I can't wait!!

Onboard the Dream, they also have a small toddler play area set up in Outlook. The hours vary so just check with guest services or the nursery. They have a caterpillar tunnel and climbing blocks, as some of the things available.
