Apparently my internal alarm system has been jiggered with because for the past three months I have been sure I had gotten pregnant - we are trying - to no avail. I have had every sign I could remember from the prior pregnancy. It is starting to get a little wierd and is making me doubt myself this month. Actually this month I don't feel like anything worked - so maybe this is it!

I think maybe on the second because we want to be pregnant so badly that my emotions are playing tricks on my mind.

What was your experience?

Well, the only one we "tried" for was our third, but I "knew." Don't ask me to explain it, I can't, but I just knew from that instant that I was (going to be) pregnant. Best wishes on your endeavor!!

No, I took the pregnancy test and was totally floored! I wasn't trying (DS wasn't even a year!). With him, I had horrible morning sickness, was so tired, just felt icky. Never felt sick one day with baby #2, never got tired. This was definitely a good thing seeing how my oldest didn't take a step til one month before his sister arrived. I had to carry him....he weighed over 30 lbs on his first birthday!!:earseek:

I was completly shocked! My heart was not really into it, though. I didn't really know if I wanted any more than my DD. I do now of course- I love my DS very much, but he was planned only as a playmate for DD in my tunnel vision that I had for her. That sounds bad, but I thought she was all I needed and then Dh and I got sad about there being no one for her to grow up with, so we tried for DS and he is a huge joy, of course!

We had a hard time conceiving #2. For over a year I was sure every month. Finally when I thought it would have been too soon to tell, I went and got my hair cut. From how my hair was, my hairdresser asked if I was pregnant. Since I had been having some signs that I wasnt, my answer was "I wish". Well I went home and the next morning took a test...turned out positive. :D
Good luck!

I am driving my husband a little nutty too since I have been sure a couple of these last few months. Great CamColt - now you have given me another sign, my hair has been totally wierd this past week.

I got pregnant very easily both times, but yes, with DD#2 (due in 5.5 more weeks!) I had a feeling I was pregnant. I actually got pregnant the very first time since DD#1 was born that we hadn't used some sort of BC. I was not even late yet - had another week to go before I would be - and I told DH "Just to give you a heads up, I think I'm pregnant." He thought I was nuts - DD#1 had only taken a couple of months, but he still didn't expect me to get pregnant immediately. A week later, the day my cycle was due, I took a HPT, and it was positive.

Best of luck to you. As I said, we've never had to "try", and I can't imagine how hard it must be to be disappointed each month that it doesn't happen. Throwing some pregnant pixie dust your way!!!

I've been on this particular 'roller coaster' before!! Yes, I knew about 2 days before I should have known for sure with my 2nd. My third was much awaited. A miracle in fact. I wasn't sure until I saw the ultrasound and only then was I 100% sure!!

Castleglazer,
It took me a year and a half for the second and the pressure became tremendous. I had started seeing a fertility specialist and I was scheduled for artificial insemination during my next cycle. DH and I went on a cruise the week before. I felt great, never had any symptoms of anything, but I was late. We docked in Key West and I bought a pregnancy test, although we were sure I wasn't since we had tried SO long. Both of us almost passed out when we saw the results and then we cried. I took 3 more tests to make sure and as soon as we got back instantly went to my doctor to confirm it.

I know exactly how you feel with your emotions. Wishing that you get some good news soon - hang in there!

I knew about 5 days before my period was due, but honestly I don't remember if it was because of a hunch or because I had heartburn...something I only have when pg.

Now granted, we get pregnant very easily, in spite of age (I was 36 when I conceived our second...well, second and third, we had twins). So I don't really have that, "am I this month?"

Good luck!!!!

Try to ignore the "signs" or you will drive yourself nuts! The only time I thought I wasn't PG was when I really was(w/2nd pregnancy). No "signs" at all. I have to force myself not to think about it.

DD#1 was only 4 months old and I was nursing, so I attributed my tiredness, sore breasts, etc to being a new mom. But when I woke up feeling nauseated on New Year's Day, I knew even before I took the test, so did DH. I ran downstairs, took the test and it was positive. I wondered how I could have missed all the signs when I was searching them out with DD#1.

I was so convinced that I wasn't with DD#2 - after nearly 2 years of trying and lots of infertility meds, I was so used to not being pregnant that I wasn't paying attention to anything. I canceled my blood test with the infertility doc and got a tattoo. I was cramping obviously af was on her way.

Ok, DD is now two and a half, I was wrong! This time I knew I was when I started craving Big Macs while I was in France - I NEVER eat at McDonalds over there and it was all I wanted

Good luck!

I used fertility treatments with both kids, but with my first, I KNEW before I even took the test. I started having morning sickness about a week before my period was due! I took the test 3 days early and it was positive. With my second, we again started trying and the first month I thought we got it. I had all the usual symptoms, and took the test the day before my period was due, expecting to see a positive. Negative, and my period started the next day. The second month, I didn't think we got it, and felt the same. I again took the test the day before, so I wouldn't be depressed when my period started. Imagine my shock when it was positive!! We also were in WDW at the time, so it was pretty cool to find out in WDW!!

We had only been trying for a month with our second, so I really had no reason to think I was already pregnant. No symptoms at all. But there I was, riding roller coasters at Six Flags over Georgia and feeling extremely sick. (never happens to me on coasters) So, we stopped at a 24 hour pharmacy on the way home, bought a test and voila! DS was on the way.

I just knew with my 2nd. Conceived on Christmas eve, and I didn't drink on New Year's cause I knew I was pregnant. No reason why, I was just sure.

Thanks guys - its good to know I am not the only one to be crushed by a test only to get my period the next day.

Well, I just shed happy tears in Toys 'r Us after wishing a little boy happy birthday who I didn't know from Adam - I will stop thinking about it right NOW! But that was wierd, hmmmmmm......

Nope, I'll stop watching for the signs NOW!
