Can anyone tell me what type of questions are asked in the WWTBAM show? Are they questions kids will be able to answer if they make it into the hotseat?

w.w.t.b.a.m?

As a UK resident who visited this attraction last year, my only impression was that the questions were very American subject orientated. Despite my general knowledge being OK, there were many questions that were completely beyond me for this reason, although I felt that the questions were not so difficult for your regular American. Fortunately I wasn't in the hot seat so my ignorance wasn't too obvious. However I still thought it was a fun way to spend a little time.

Is this clock really slowing down?

Hi,
The first few questions might be ones a kid (?? about 12) can answer, but they get harder just like on the show.

From the $100 - $1000 questions, they are fairly simple, general trivia questions. Many have to do with Disney films, so it wont hurt to be familiar with them. After the $1000 question, the questions start to become harder and more specific. You wont find any "joke answers" (the joke answer is usually the last answer that is obviously wrong, and put in to make the audience laugh)here. And sorry, questions are not repeated from show to show to so there's no repitition.

Mary,
Unless they've changed things, younger kids (I think 9 and under) can bring a parent/adult with them to the hotseat. The first 5 questions, the hosts usually do try to "help" younger contestants if they can.

As a 32,000 winner, I agree with the rest about the difficulty of questions. I can only speak for the 4 or 5 shows I've been to, but I would have to respectfully disagree with BongoBetty. I can't remember any of my questions being specifically "American". I had questions about French painters, Greek Easter eggs, the English language, and Disney trivia. I don't remember any questions that were slanted toward American culture.

I can't help but thinking of Sam the Eagle's production in Muppetvision. A salute to all nations, but especially America!

Both my then 14 year old DD and my then 16 year old DS have been on the hot seat. My DS has been on three or four times. The first five questions are usually fairly easy and not too American. There may be a couple of Disney or WDW questions (such as which park as Futureland).

This is one of my favorite attractions. I have been to the hot seat six times and made it to or pass the 32,000 point level four times. Good luck.

While originally the first 3 questions were Disney or WDW related, that is not the case now. They ask only one Disney question somewhere around the 1000 point level, which can be on any area, but is usually an animated movie question. And I have seen questions repeated, just worded differently!
As far as all of the questions up to 32,000 points being 'simple' questions, if that were the case, then everyone would at least get to the 32,000 level. I've been to many shows, and I would say that less than half get to the 32,000 level. Back in May we did get to witness two people go for the cruise in the same show! The first guy missed the last question, and the second guy won the cruise. That was exciting!
I've got two shirts to show for my experience, and I would have to say it's more luck than knowledge. ;)

I don't what the age cut-off is but kids can bring a parent with them to the hot seat. We went to one show were this little boy who was probably around 8 won the fastest finger. He brought his Dad up but he was so nervous that he was in tears when he got in the seat. The host and his Dad were very patient with him and you could just see how hard it was for him to be there.

His Dad helped him with the format and he helped him son answer the first 1-2 questions but by the 3rd he was really warming up. It was so cute to see him answer the questions and the crowd was really cheering for him. Unfortunately he didn't get too far but it was a fun thing to watch. :)

I think it really is just luck because I'd have to agree with BongoBetty, based on the only time I've been to this attraction.

The questions aren't terribly impossible - that is, they're not terribly impossible if you are at all familiar with the subject. When we were there in March, the questions were definitely "Americanized". Again, not IMPOSSIBLE, but hard for anyone who hasn't had, say, 4th grade Social Studies in the US. In fact, the day we were there, two Canadians were in the Hot Seat (separate times) and both got stumped on US government related questions. The first contestant even used the "Phone a Complete Stranger" lifeline, and, in comedy of ALL comedies, ended up with ANOTHER CANADIAN!! lol It was really very amusing.

I do imagine, however, that the questions and subject matter are rotated so much that it's really just luck of the draw as to what you have to answer. Good luck!!

This show is one of the main reasons I want to go to MGM, it seems so exciting.

My brother won the Cruise at the Millionaire game in May!!!

I wasn't there so I don't know how the whole thing worked, but the questions must be pretty hard because he was only the 58th winner since the game started (3 years ago?)!

He won a bunch of stuff (shirt, leather jacket, pins). I think he said you win prizes at certain dollar amounts.

I wish he would take me on his Disney Cruise!:Pinkbounc

He's always been a smart guy, gifted program, MENSA.:smooth:

We went to see WWTBAM in Disneyland over 4th of July and I was the top scorer when they ran out of time (needless to say I now have a new name for the game which I can't put on these boards LOL).

I finally convinced DS to let me go in again and I was number 2 when they were looking for a new contestant. I told DS that when we go to WDW next time he will do the rides with DH and I'm just going to keep going back inside until I'm picked.

A CM told us that when you try for the fastest finger question to just hit any buttons because if you stop to think about the question you won't be fast enough.

I have heard that at least four or five four year olds have made it to the hot seat by just hitting the buttons at random. The times for the fastest finger questions are so fast that you really have no time to think.

Once you get close to the hot seat, you are hooked. I love this attraction and have to get on the hot seat every trip.
