On week 3 of the Chickenpox!

I am sitting here at home on Thanksgiving because we are not going to the family celebration at SIL. DS9 has the Chickenpox! DS6 and DD6 already had it last week and the week before. My kids all received the Varicella vaccine, but there was a severe breakout at school, 15% of the kids so far have gotten it!! 90% of these kids were vaccinated. The kids have very mild cases and except for the pox, slight fever and itching they are feeling pretty good.

Now, to keep this on topic, I was thinking about how important cruise insurance was!!! If I had any doubts before, I certainly don't now. If this had happened next year when we go on our cruise we would have had to cancel or if they came down with it on the ship we would have been quarentined (sp?) Yikes!!

You are absolutely correct. I am a travel agent and the very same thing happened to a family of five that I had booked on a cruise. Everyone that declines the insurance always says, "We are going no matter what, even if we are sick" However, they don't think about instances like this. If you have chicken pox, they will NOT let you on the ship, even with a mild case.

This particular family was out over 5000.00.. OUCH!

I never understand why people don't buy travel insurance...it really doesn't make sense that you would risk loosing all the money for a trip simply because you were to cheap to pay a few hundred more for travel insurance! You never know whats going to happen!!

AWWW Your poor children I hope the itching stops.
When we were on our 1st cruise we received a note under the door that said children were in the club with ours who had chickenpox. Ours didn't get it but I heard that some cast memebers did and were really sick.UGH
I agree withthe others though.Although you would like to go sick or not regulations do apply. You were smart to get trip insurance.
