On WBPC Repo, medical stop

Turned around to head to Acupolco to get medical emergency to land. Will have a boat to come get the patient. Puerto Vallarta stop is compromised but we don't know how badly.

Yep, the ship is heading off course back to Acupolco . . . hope it's nothing serious for the patient, and next stop doesn't get cancelled.

They did that on last year's WBPC too. We stopped off the coast of Guatemala. It took forever for the ship to get clearance to leave the "port"...even though we were still at sea. All I can ever think in these situations (after wishing the patient well), is I sure hope they have trip insurance!

Absolutely. I got mine through CAA (AAA) which includes medical, pre-trip cancellation, and repatriation to get back home if necessary. Always get travel insurance before big trips and have gladly never needed it yet.

Patient is stable and was able to board rescue boat, we have been delayed by approximately 3 hours into Puerto Vallarta to tomorrow.
