We are booked for a cat 3 in January 2003 with a cat 4 connecting room but really want a cat 1 or 2. We are on a wait list for it. My question is: Is there anything we can do other than waiting for a call from disney to secure those rooms. This far in advance do they trypically come available? If one does comes open how does disney go through the pecking order on the wait list? Any help is much appreciated and thank you in advance for suggestions.

I read here to keep calling every day to see if the room you want has opened. Someone wrote that cancelled rooms go back into the system immediately, but waiting lists are checked the following morning so you might be able to pick one up during the day it was cancelled. (I think I'm remembering that correctly.) Right around the 60 day mark is probably the best chance. At that point all the passengers have to send in the rest of the payment. Maybe someone will change their mind and drop their hold on the suite you want. There was a thread about this yesterday....sometimes it takes booking years in advance to secure one of the 4 top suites. Other people have landed in them at the last minute by upgrade or them becoming available and the passenger paying the additional to change their existing room. Even if it doesn't become available, you'll still have lots of room and enjoy the concierge service with the Cat. 3 connected to the #4

The other day I called and there was a Cat 1 left for Oct 2002. The girl said someone must have cancelled because it was not there the day before. When I called two days later it was taken. We are in a Cat 3 for Jan 2003 also waitlisted for a 1 or 2. The CM checked thru the summer of 2003 and there was nothing available in a Cat 1.

We were able to upgrade from a cat 3 with attached cat 4 to a cat 1. I put our party on the waitlist for all the Western sailings. It was a 1 hour+ phone call with DCL reservations to book each individual waitlist. You just really need to be flexible on when you'll go. Our original sail date was July 2003. We are now on the August 31, 2002 Western. I never called back to check on cancellations. When the suite became available, I received a FedEx envelope with our upgrade to a cat 1 and I called to transfer our deposit to the new booking. :D

I am also booked for a cat.3 for July 5, 2003 and am on a waiting list for a 1 or 2. After reading this post I called to make sure it was for any western cruise date I am flexible. It turned out they only had me on the wait list for the 1 cruise date that I had booked. I talked to a superviser and she said she was able to list me for all of the 2003 western cruises. It didn't take all that long so I am still concerned that I am not on all the waiting lists. How long did it take till you recieved your upgrade? Thanks for your post, cuz if I hadn't of read it I wouldn't of called today.

I found this link on the DCL Website under 'rates, dates, and more' for the 7 day Caribbean Cruise:

Rates

It shows Category 1 at $3899 to $4799 per person.

hope that helps

Hi Tony We are both Long Islanders. Check out the link for the prices because it your 4th,5th, and 6,th passengers are kids the price isn't so high.

just were on the 4/27 cat3 that was really nice would love to do the western on a cat3 or better.

We did the eastern back in Nov. and loved it so we booked the western. Right now I have 8102 booked for July. My daughter wants to bring a friend and that room only sleeps 4. So I am on the waitlists for a Cat.2 or1 or 1 of the cat.3's with the pulldown in the living room. So we will see what happens. I have found out that I am really not good at waiting.
