Your Cast of Characters: Me: Trip planner & Disneyaholic
Skye: My 8 year old granddaughter
Lynn: Friend/coworker & first timer
Since we hadn't unpacked at the Poly it was painless getting our stuff together for our move to BWV. I wanted to check in early in hopes of getting my room requests, so we took a taxi, along with our luggage over to the BW. I bought DVC at BCV, but since I'd only made the ressie a couple months out all I could get was BWV. No big deal, since I'd never so much as darkened the doors to either one I didn't have a preferance and planned to visit BCV too. Wow, that whole area is beautiful. Lynn & Skye are in awe and as I check in I'm jealous because they're able to ramble around checking everything out.....I wanted to see too! After check in we set off for Boardwalk Bakery for a quick bite before heading to MGM. The cinnimon rolls were good, but I prefer them warm & gooy and these were cold. We enjoyed the boatride to MGM....scoping out the area from the water.
This would be Lynn first time on R&R and ToT. On the way, Skye was excited to ride them both again. No time for pin trading this morning! We got there right at opening and made our way to R&R. There was some sort of holdup as the line didn't move for several minutes, but when it did it moved fast. I have to say my heart was beating rather fast as I'm not a "scary ride" kind of gal, but I ride.....and even keep my eyes open this time! Lynn liked it too. The picture was good (my eyes are open in this one) but I was determined not to buy any more of these pictures as we already have a bunch and they just sit in a drawer at home. Next was Tower of Terror and I have to say that my heart was thumping this time too. Lynn was hilarious on this one. After a drop or two, she's screaming "Is is over!" In answer The elevator rises and drops again & again! I think she enjoyed it though! I really wanted to do some things at MGM that we'd never done before, like Millionaire, Backlot Tour, Animation Tour, etc. We did the GMR, LM, Muffets, Millionaire, and tried to do the Backlot Tour but a tram broke down and we were trapped in the Prop Room until we finally just had to swim upstream and escape the place. The animation tour wasn't on yet and it had started to pour the rain so we'd have to leave that for another trip. At this point we were tiring of sloshing around the park in our $1 ponchos so we went to see if we could get in early for our Hollywood Brown Derby PS. No problem at all! Lunch was excellent. The lobster bisque tasted so good on that rainy afternoon! The fish was excellent too! We lingered there for quite a while and enjoyed the meal and a couple beers.
After lunch we head back to BWV to see if our room was ready. It was. The room was spacious and beautiful with a view of the quiet pool & canal. We loved it and explored everything while we unpacked and got settled in. It was still raining out, but not as hard as before, so we went and checked out the shops along the boardwalk before walking over to BC for our Cape May Cafe dinner PS. I loved the BC/YC area too and can't wait to stay at my home resort. Stormalong Bay looked awsome to Skye! I don't know if it was because our lunch at HBD was so good that it was hard to follow it with the Cape May Cafe buffet, but we didn't enjoy dinner anywhere near as much as lunch! After dinner Skye got her portrait done by a very talented lady by the name of Echo in the BC lobby. It turned out perfect! I wanted to find a quiet spot somewhere at BC to "talk to Mom." I bought DVC with some of the money she left me and I just wanted to thank her. But every time I tried to have my moment, some stranger would appear.
It had finally quit raining and Skye wanted to swim so instead of going to a park we stayed and enjoyed the BW pools & hot tubs. But the bar closed at 7pm which I though was really strange and there were lots of folks still at the pool. Anyway, we still had a good time for a while, but we probably would've stayed longer if the bar had been open.
Skye and I shared the king sized bed in the bedroom and Lynn slept on the hide a bed. She said it wasn't her bed at home but it was comfy enough.
Oh, I got up once to get something to drink from the kitchen and saw that Lynn had found the Zippity doo dah tip for the day channel all on her own!
