On the subject of mules...

Hey - I have a question for all my fellow Dis'ers. A person (on my list) came into my room while I was trading with a mule, so I asked him to wait until the trade was over. When the mule exited and I explained what I was doing, he called me a cheat, and told me I should earn my credits playing games like everyone else. After discussing our differing viewpoints on the subject of mules for a few minutes, he told me he had to leave my room, as being around me would now make him feel "awkward" because I was a cheater. Sigh.

Now, to the question. I have scoured the entire Home Page, read the Terms of Use, VMK Values, and House Rules and there is absolutely no mention made of multiple accounts. I remember once reading a post which claimed that Yavn disapproved, but other than that, I can find nothing. Is there a definitive answer to the question of mules? To mule or not to mule...

I don't think there is, i mean i used to do that a little but it was to hard and the games give good credits now so there isn't really a purpose to do it. some of my friends do it i think still but if not they have done it in the past. i don't really think u are doing anything wrong but hey, that is just my opinion, and i have a lot of them.

I think that VMK knows about all the mules. If they really wanted to stop it they would verify E mail addresses or disable the credit codes. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with mules.

I don't see anyhting wrong with mules either. I used to make them all the time, but now like pirate said, the games give out good credits so what is the point. Also I make on once in a while now just in case I am broke.

With it being easier to get credits- mine have increased to 150,000 from 30,000 in about 2 weeks... all from me playing on my main character and not all the time either lol- oh and I also spent probably 60-70k on stuff during that time too and still have 150k.

So my poor mule team hasn't been coming out much- I used to have 3 mules that I would run through for credits and play a few games with so that when new things came out I'd have the credits to get them- without completely bankrupting myself-

Now the majority of my mules were created around the time that web dividers were on sale... and during the costume re-release- at the time I was shopping for myself and my dd and ds- too much for one person to do lol

but most of those mules are dormant except at times like the new years pins, thanksgiving quest and yeti quest-

Of course some have really convenient names- that lend themselves to holidays or events- and so they will come out and play at different times in the future- but for the most part I won't run them through for credits much anymore- I really don't need to- and I think that is a goal of VMK by increasing the game credits-

So to answer your question- no I do not think it is cheating- you are right there isn't anything in the terms of service that directly prohibit it- and someone posted about a castmember in vmk central that actually encouraged them to create mules with fake emails and "just change a letter or number in each one"- and they wouldn't offer you to make a character and give it special perks (born in park badge, ears, etc)

Morning Doc! If you need any further proof of lack of VMK saying anything about it, check that thread that was started a day or two ago. The poll about how many mule accounts you have? There are MANY of us that have a LOT of them LOL

But I do remember reading somewhere, probably right here in DIS, that the credits earned in the games and music room were raised by VMK to help stop mules being created. From the looks of some of the people posting so far, looks like it is working!

(VirtuallyMe, is this why I cannot get to see you to chat? Because you obviously are "living" in what must be fireworks game, to have earned so much so very quickly?)
