On the road to a healthy ME! Jog along with me!

Hi Wendy! Sorry to hear that you've been feeling lousy. Hope you're continuing to improve. Seems like a bunch of people get these change of season colds and viruses. I had a touch of one also, and the weird thing is that the only places I went to last week was my Dr. and the radiologist office.

You tea party sounds like such fun! Kind of like tea at the Grand Floridian. It's a great idea for a "girlfriend" get together. I'm sure you'll have a blast!

Take care and get well!

Hello all!

Feeling much better! Going to Mackinaw to see parents tomorrow. Should be fun, even tho the weather is to be lousy. Sure, been nice the last 3 weekends, outside of rain at night, and now the weather goes to snow advisories! We will still have a blast!

Have the perfect outfit for our tea! I am so excited! My friend is going thru her closet to find something 'high tea-ish'! Now, if I could talk DH into wearing a tux and being the butler! :goodvibes

Hope all have a great weekend, I will catch up on Tuesday!

Great losses to all!

Wendy

:goodvibes :goodvibes

Well, Mackinaw was fun, the show good, and the weather, well we really don't want to mention that. It is raining once again here. It's getting pretty old now. Wanted rain all summer, and now we just can't seem to get rid of it!

Guess I had better catch up on all the sruff I didn't do while away. DH kept the home front looking good. Today is grocery day. Yuk! It is a necessary evil. Don't have a choice. Out of veggies.

Lots of luck and great losses to all!

Wendy

Hello all!

Been a good week. Did indulge a bit during the Princess Tea party. Been walking not as much. I really am putting off the use of the teadmill, but going to have to do it.

Was DD's conference at school. She is doing wonderfully! Also, today her and her dad did over 45 minutes of exercising together. YEAH! She did treadmill and bowflex. So happy!

Tomorrow is the day DS and I go to a concert in Detriot with friends. Hope the weather and construction holds out!

Off to catch up on all the news!

Great losses to all!

Wendy

Well, went over to Detroit and back yesterday. Had a good time. I so enjoy seeing my college buddy. She isn't as well as she could be. Although the cooler weather is much easier on her to be out and about. She looks really good! She was diagnosed with MS last year. It was pretty upsetting, since her mom past away from MS 2 years earlier. But she enjoys life. She had a good role model. Her mom was always very optimistic. She did tear up when the Tigers lost to the Cardinals. Well, when you have been born, raised, and still live in Detroit, I guess that is gonna happen! There is always next year! Her husband just came back from China--he was over there recruiting and checking on clients for Federal Mogel. And he is pretty ill. Guess he must have eaten something that didn't agree with him. He was ill enough to go to the doctors. Guess he's dehydrating from being ill. Now she can baby him a bit and all that! She loves taking care of him. He's gone traveling around the globe, so she certainly enjoys the time he's with her, even if he isn't at the top of his game!

Not much else! Did great on diet yesterday! Didn't exercise as much as I should have, just the morning walk and such. But doing a few sets of stairs at the Palace should count for something :goodvibes .

Well, off to catch up and then run a few errands before work!

Great losses to all!

Wendy

Hello to all! Wow--thought I wasn't going to get over this ear infection, but looks like it is finally getting better. Had 2 quiet days, even with Halloween. Did go to the eye doctor and bone doctor yesterday. My eyes are bad! And my bones are getting better! Did some manipulations, but I feel good!

DS is going to U of M 's tech day to do some engineering seminars with his buddy--the same one going to WDW with him in August. It is always scary when I send him on his own, but he and his friend are both very good boys. I know they will be safe.

Well, going to catch up on all the other stuff!

Great losses to all!

Wendy

Hi Wendy, So sorry that I haven't stopped by recently, and I hope all is well with you. I know what you mean about sending your son off on his own...there's something special about that mother/son bond. Sounds like he's a great kid and he'll really do well in college.

I was wondering how the tea party went? That was such a great fun thing to do with your friends.

Thanks for stopping by my journal. I've had a few rough weeks and I appreciate your support! Take care and be healthy! Denise

Hello to all! Things are going good. DS is considering a change in his part time job. I sure wish him the best. He has only one year left before college, so we will see.

Not much else new. Not too crazy about the store I am currently scheduled at. Sometimes you just got to roll with the flow!

Off to continue catching up!

Wendy

Wow--did the new maps from Disney. Just waiting for DS's to be sent to him for his trip in August. Today we are sending out his applications to college. Wow, I really want him to stay at home his first year. Just selfish reasons. You know how us mom's get.

Well, ear infection isn't doing so well. Have to go to a specialist. It will help me alot. I still went for my daily walk, even tho I swear the ground was tilted!

Got new glasses, and the bi focals are stronger. That could be why the ground tilted!

Doing ok on weight loss. Lost a pound, and stagnat again. Got to pick up on the excercising. Hoping after seeing the ENT it will be better. Can't lie down without feeling and hearing the ocean in my right ear! :rotfl:
Wish I was near the ocean! It's the start of winter here!

All is well. OFf to continue to catch up!

Wendy

Oh my! I am so craving The Cheesecake Factory's Double Chocolate CheeseCake! Good thing that it takes a car ride and money to do it!

Yucky weather. Well, looks like treadmill tonight. Poor dog! :guilty: She will just have to handle it!

Off to tread!

Wendy

Hi Wendy, I laughed when I read your post!!! My DH an I have avoided our new Cheesecake Factory for about 3 months now, but Thursday night, we finally caved and went there for dinner. Yum! We split a slice of the Chocolate Tuxedo. I just loved the place (its the first in our area), and to make the tempatation worse, I pass it every night on my way home from work. So, needless to say, I know exactly how you feel.

Hope you have a fun weekend! Denise

Hello all!

Oh Denise, that sounds very yummy! If we mind melt I can relive the flavors from your memory! :rotfl: Hey, a new diet! Wonder if it will work! I am sure we can market it!

Sorry I have been gone, but DS (17) was very ill, and I just babied him till I couldn't stand it any more! He is finally getting better. He is recovering from pneumonia. Went to the ER tuesday, and they just sent us home with its a virus thing (fever at 103). He stayed in from school wednesday, and when I got home from work at midnight, his fever was still 103. Thursday morning the hospital called and said the xray tech said he had pneumonia. Well, I just took him to his own dr and he said yep, he could hear it. We did have to do a breathing treatment as his Oxygen was low. And finally, Sunday morning he woke without a temp. Was quite the experience. We did lounge around alot. Made some yummies for him, made some traditional dinners that he liked, and just hung out and watched the Ohio.U of M game. (brother in law grad from UofM). So, I did not exercise as I wanted to, but did watch what I ate, and still at the same weight as last week. Oh well, time to kick it into gear. Still craving cheesecake (I don't know how you can walk past Denise and not walk thru the doors just to smell! I would have to! ) but behaving as I should!

Laundry is almost done, and vaccumming is left. So off I go! Still have to take DS to dr's for a recheck to make sure he is doing as well as he looks!

Great losses to all and to all a great Thanksgiving!

Wendy and family.

Good to see you post again Wendy! I was wondering what was up. I'm glad to hear that your son is doing better. I'm sure it was a scary time for him and you too.

I know that you walk as your exercise routine. How do you keep motivated to do it? With me it's hit or miss. I always have the best intentions, but then lunch time rolls around and I decide to run errands instead like the bank, post office, drug store, Target....the list is endless. Now that its dark when I get home, I don't do the neighborhood thing either. Sometimes I get so annoyed with myself.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Our daughter will be visiting from NY on Friday and staying over till Sat., so it will be nice to have her here.

Take care and be healthy! Denise

Hello to all! And to all a wonder holiday!

Everyone is doing great here. Son is feeling so much better. He looks rested and no longer coughs or looks like he's melting. Finally! I did go to the doctor's about some of the issues I have been having with sleep, and ankle pain and etc. (Sometimes I think I am a big baby!) I have fibromyalgia and he put me on a new but very mild antidepressant to help with the sleep issue and extremity pain. He says getting a good night sleep with help with all the other issues. Ok, I thought that was weird, so I looked it up on the internet, and yes, it is something they do. They even use it for foot pain for severe diabetics. Wow. I am just anxious to have a full nights sleep! My friend asked me if I was going to be even more happy (I am know for always smiling and singing and such), I told her I couldn't get any happier--unless it was to win the lottery! Well, maybe I should play the lottery so that my chances on winning improve! You never know!
:rotfl:

Tonight is going to be very hectic at work. I am up for it. Could stand a nap, but will just do without it!

Well, off and running!

Great losses to all!

Oh--found a pretty good brand of organic soups that are gluten free and such. Amy's, They have some pretty good flavors, with black bean being just yummy!

Ciao all!

Wendy

(Ok, maybe I am a bit chipper!)

One food holiday down, and 2 more to go! Did great! In fact, DH asked me if I even had enough to eat! Yeah! And, we really enjoyed the movie and the 'sandwich' style dinner. So much easier! We were all done and cleaned up and relaxing by 8:30. I could get used to this type of holiday celebration. :goodvibes

Off to work to feed the hungry shoppers!

Wendy

Hi Wendy! Happy to hear that you had a nice Thanksgiving and congrats for being in control! I'm all for keeping things simple too...there's much less to clean up! Hope your sleep issues are improving, I've been thru that too, but mostly due to menopause and DH's snoring. I've found a few strategies that work for me including sleeping in the extra bedroom sometimes. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

Good luck with all your hungry holiday shoppers. I remember when I worked in retail for a bunch of Christmas seasons and how crazy it was. I don't think I could handle it in my old age. LOL!

Have a great day! Be happy and healthy, but I think you already have that covered. Denise

Oh my, it's been ions since writing! Been busy, and busy.

A few good notes, diet has been good. Did indulge once with a bit of ice cream. Of course light and all that jazz!

DS did get his acceptance letter to MTU. He is excited. I am of course worried sick. Certainly won't help the unability to sleep well. Although I think the medication is working a bit. I see the DR on Thursday and we will see.

Well, the storm is over, and the snow is deep. Glad we didn't have ice or freezing rain. It is SO cold right now! Guess I will spend my free time in front of the fireplace!

Off to catch up and get going!

Wendy

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas! I even have 5 gifts down! Yeah!

Not much new going on. Still need to up my excercise to help with the last 10 pounds to get me under 200. Did lose 2 more, the first real loss since the last 5 eons ago--or at least that is what it seems like. I have been watching what I eat like a hawk. Keeping busy sure helps!

Off and running to work!

Great losses to all!

Wendy

Wow--Can't believe it is the 17th already.

DH and I have been trying to get everything together to make sure we have it all together for DS to go to Mich Tech this fall. He has a trust fund from my in laws, yet I know that there will be expenses outside of the cost to attend. So, we are getting a plan together to get him there. I remember when all I had to worry about was day care for him :goodvibes

Been trying to follow diet with meals, but it is those pesky mints I picked up for the others. I just seem to find them and devour one without even thinking about it. Oy Vey!

Well, off on a whirlwind of life!

Wendy

Hi Wendy! Thought I would stop by with a quick hello. Good luck to you with all that college financial planning. All I can say is thank goodness for scholarships and low-interest student loans. Your son is very fortunate to have that trust fund! I wish you and him all the best!

Hope all is going well with your holiday prep. It's such a busy time of the year, so don't forget to focus on you once in awhile. Keep on postin' and have a great week! Denise
