We will be at Epcot Thursday 12/5 and would like to see the Candlelight Processional with our 2 sons (5 & 8) but can't decide about the dinner package.

If we do the package, we would choose Chefs de France with a PS for 5:30 and the 8:15 CP

otherwise - we would do counter service (perhaps Yakitori House, Cantina de San Angel, Matsu No Ma Lounge, or the Fish&Chips shop) and then watch the 8:15 from the non-reserved area.

Sell me on why I should book the package! Thanks!:sunny:

It is possible you won't get a seat if you don't have a reserved one, or that you will have to wait a long time in line. That should be a busy week at WDW given all of the posts of lack of availability of rooms at that time. The package makes things a bit more relaxing and it can be a good deal if you eat the expensive entrees, desserts, etc. If you need to save money, don't do the package and get in line early to try to get a seat. You can see the early performances while you are in line, so if you don't mind standing that is another way to experience CP.

We waited in line one year for 1 1/2 hrs. and were lucky enough to be the last 3 people they let enter. I always get ps now, because it's something I don't want to miss.

My feeling is if your going to dine at one of the restaurants anyway the package is the way to go. One big factor is the 15% shopping discount that's good almost everywhere in Epcot. Mousegears in FW has a vast amount of WDW merchandise. We try to do most of our "souvenir" shopping that day.

Thanks for your replies! I'm still on the fence (although the souvenir shopping is a great idea - except it's my first day in the parks and I know my boys will keep wanting...)

The 15% merchandise discount is what put me over the fence. When we did it in 2000, I figured I saved over $20 in discounts.

This is our third time going to Disney for the Christmas decorations (we usually go in the summer) and for sure, the Candlelight Processional is on our absolute DO NOT MISS list!! For this reason, I always do the package - so I know I'll have a seat.

By the way, we're going on Dec 6 and have a 5:30 PS at Chefs de France with the 8:15 show!!!

I think the package is a great deal, and with the 15% discount, its even better!!!
