On the fence about 2 Bedroom VS 3 Studios at BCV

I would book the 2 bedroom, go to MK the first day, go straight to the Jungle Cruise and pitch Extreme High Maintenence (EHM) boyfriend over the side when no one else is lookin'. But that's just me.....

Only problem there is that the river is only about three or four feet deep. So he could stand up and be fine. Take him to Stormalong Bay to the lazy river and ask him to hold your bowling ball for you.

Make sure to specify that you want the 2 bedroom with 2 beds in the second room. There are only 25 of these at the BCV. Most of them only have one bed in the second room.We just stayed in 2 of these in May for our grand gathering and we loved it. Our master bedroom only had 2 drawers for clothing so we hung most of our clothes in the closet. If you want to book a studio on cash you get a 25% discount off the rack rate. Have fun and welcome home!!

Hi, Just to clarify this post. If you do not get the 2 beds in the second bedroom you WILL GET 1 bed and a pull-out sofa bed :) When we stay at BCV there is myself and DH and we get the Master. My 16 year old DS (who is about 6 feet tall) gets the pull-out in the living area. My DD 25 and my DS 22 share the second bedroom. MY DD (the PRINCESS and oldest child) always gets THE BED!! My DS 22 takes whatever, be it bed or pull-out in 2nd bedroom. So we are really 5 adults sharing the 2 bedroom and we are very comfortable. Joan

How comfortable are the pullouts? I heard that BCV recently purchased new sleeper sofa's. True or a rumour?

Taking the make-up of your party into account, I would do 3 studios. Could be too close for comfort and people feeling a lack of privacy.

I would book the 2BR and suggest they rent enough points to get a studio at BCV. Maybe you could have them transferred to your account and then you have control of the reservation. if they back out you would still have some points to be used another time if they could be banked etc. That way you could all be at BCV and they would not have the expense of a cash reservation for BCV. Some monetary outlay might keep the BF from cancelling. I would not attempt that many people in a 2 BR at BCV under any circumstances. We did 6 with two under 5 and that was more than enough. I am also another in favor or OKW for this type of trip if you really want everyone together. Even there I would get a 2 BR and a studio. Good luck with this trip and hope you have a wonderful time.

Many thanks to all who have responded. We have decided we're going to book a 2 bedroom at BCV. If they want to join us, they are more than welcome. If not, then they are welcome to book their own room and join the rest of us when they can. The sad part is they can't afford to stay at BCV and will probably stay at one of the value resorts - which will limit our time together. Especially since they won't be able to access SAB.

Regarding being cramped, I think we'll mainly just be at the resort to sleep and use the pool in the evenings. We'll probably be in the parks from morning till night so I'm not really worried about having enough seating at the kitchen table. I typically eat while getting ready anyways. I think getting ready in the morning's will be the biggest hurdle, but we're early birds whereas the others aren't so we'll probably be ready by the time they wake up to use them.

Joan - I'm hoping your perspective of so many in the room not being too bad is correct. More space would be desirable, but as I mentioned, we want BCV this trip for location, the pool and the whole resort. :) We're willing to accept being a little cramped in order to get our desired location. My sister/husband don't mind that either. They figure we'll be in our room so little it won't really matter in the end, plus it's free. Hopefully we just won't all hate each other by the end.

Thanks again everyone!!! Next May can't get here fast enough!!:yay:

We had 9 people in a 2 bedroom at SSR. Were we crowded? Yes. Did we care? NO. We were all together and that is what mattered. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

If your sister and boyfriend want their own room maybe they could rent points and then be able to afford BCV.

To get them access to SAB, you could put them on your reservation since it would still remain within proper occupancy. Then they'd have the cards allowing them access.

Also, you'd be all set if they decided they wanted to crash and stay free after all.

You could always just do a 1 bedroom for your own family at BCV. Then do a family gathering another year at OKW. Also as far as doing the parks all day those little ones are going to be exhausted and ned some down time.Otherwise you are going to have some very cranky kids. Been there done that , not a pretty picture. Also if they get real cranky the boyfriend will definatly complain. My other suggestion is if you go with the 2 bedroom ask for a lock off. That way if need be the other family can have a little more privacy. Go back to the resort at lunch time. Relax at the pool or let the kids take a short nap and then go back to the parks later in the afternoon.

Don't push him off the boat on the jungle cruise. The water is to shallow. I vote for the boat dock at the resort. Tell him they found a couple alligators in the water a couple days before. Put a good scare into him. :rotfl2:
