On the deck plans there are lots of shaded area's that appear empty, anyone know what these house? or what they are?

here is a link so you can see what I am talking about:

I am particulary interested in deck two middle of ship as this is where my cabin is.

Many of the grey spots on Deck 1 are crew areas, such as the mess, and rec rooms. Other grey areas could be engine rooms, offices, etc. But any where that is grey if off limits to guests.. as far as I know.

that is what I am afraid of, our room is right next to (on the end)
a big gray square and if it is the engine room, I couldnt sleep!!!
how do i know for sure??

room 2085 on the wonder.

I'll let someone answer who has stayed in that room or area. Since I have worked on board yet I don't know where everything is. I am guessing someone else can give you a better idea of what is near you room.

Engine rooms are not on level 2. Part of the gray area you see beside your room is the level 2 laundry for guests. Not sure if that takes up the entire space.

Is there a way to find our what is next to a particular cabin? I understand that Disney wouldn't want to show a layout for security reasons, but how would one find out? We are booked in 1079 for our Oct 30 Magic cruise and I'm a little worried. I have a phobia about large machinery and the thought of being next to the engine room or something is making me creep out.

Just imagine that the grey areas are where Mickey and gang live. After all, they have to sleep somewhere don't they?

I know on deck 6 the areas were where they kept a lot of housekeeping stuff and towels and things like that. Lower down are the crew quarters and rec areas. Go to DCLtribute.com and they will list noisy rooms.

From a picture I took of the model in the DCL Terminal, it looks like that grey area is the tunnel for the engine exhaust. It comes right up through all decks to the stack on the top deck.

Not to worry. Many of the grey areas are things such as janitors closets, meeting rooms (on deck 2), access areas, etc.

We have stayed on deck 2 three times, and love it. It is so convienent to everything on the ship. You don't have to rely on elevators, except to get up to the top decks!

Enjoy!
