Thank you so much for writing all these. I hope you've saved them "for forever and eternity.." I should have some good material for my next reports when I get back from a trip with my 80yo father and aunt/uncle 70's. Them all on ECV's. Real possibilities there....
Maybe it's my warped sense of humor, but I'm imagining a scene similar to Chevy Chase in "NL Vacation" wherein he and Rusty are racing in slo-mo towards the gates of Wally World to the echoing tunes of "Chariots of Fire"... except in this version, it's you and 3
ECVs. You're right -- there ARE real possibilities there!

As for the reports -- yes, I'm saving them for the posterity of my family. However -- I don't intend to let the kids read them anytime soon. While we adults can muse over the personalities and quirks of our children, it's something best done out of earshot (or eyesight) of the child. Kids just don't quite get it... I can see Evan's reaction now.
"What's this "
Overly-sensitive" stuff? Who are you talking about? Me? Whaddya mean, ME?! Says who? Well what's THAT supposed to mean? OVERLY SENSITIVE? I'm NOT overly sensitive...
I AM NOT!"

Denial ain't just a river, as the saying goes! But anyway -- yes, I have saved my reports, and I will let my family read them in due time (after Christmas and post-adolescence!) My own DH hasn't even read my reports yet, but that's only because he's just not "into" the DIS or trip reports the way I am. It's certainly not because I have anything to hide from him...I'm usually pretty good about openly sharing my feelings with folks (he probably wishes I'd share my feelings on him sometimes a little LESS, haha!) And I have sort of a personal pledge to never write anything about a family member or friend that might get me removed from a future Thanksgiving dinner table. Part of the reason is simple: my family is way too computer literate. They would read about themselves and then personally
hunt me down for the slanderous scumball that I am. Nah, I'm just kidding -- they wouldn't do
that! (Well, at least, MOST of them wouldn't... now that I think about it, there are a FEW I should probably worry about...)

But seriously, the bottom line is that "Pobody's Nerfect", self most
certainly included, and it's far better in my clan to just keep the peace ... after all, the person I alienate today might be the holder of the next great dip recipe tomorrow! I do think it would be really cool if some member of my family would write a report on this trip to give contrast to my own perspective! I wonder... would they paint me as Schedule-Driven Banshee or Easy-Going Fun-Lover? Maniac Mom or Nurturing Giver? Family-Oriented Disney Devotee or Depressed Dip-Eating Lunatic? Or maybe all of the above? Perhaps a blend? Or have I missed my character entirely? This inquiring mind would actually like to know... It could make for a pretty neat "He said / She said" kind of report!
Of course, the best "He" for the job would clearly be my DH -- he knows me best -- and worst! -- but sadly, he's not an author option (like I said, he's no DISer.
Feel free to pity him deeply.) And BIL and SIL are too busy to send me the "Pooh Bear Breakfast" photos I've been hounding them about for a month, much less pen a review. Same goes for my sis. So I guess it will remain a pipe dream of mine... right up there with driving the monorail with Bobby Labonte.
Sigh...
Thanks so much to all of you who have taken the time to read through my many posts! You know, they say two of the largest populations on this earth consist of (a) people who "could have gone to law school" and (b) people who are "gonna write a book someday". I guess now, by virtue of these lengthy reports, I could bow out of at least the latter group, since each report averaged about 9 pages of text, equalling nearly 120 pages. Between myself and some of the other writers folks have mentioned
(Delswife, joedisney, Zurg) we surely have quite an anthology! And you guys /gals have read it all -- kudos to you! (and an Extra Strength Tylenol for your monitor-weary eyes!) I'm flattered that you place me / my reports amongst such good company. If sharing pieces of my family life somehow made a morning cup of coffee or evening spot of tea more pleasant for a fellow DISer, then my reports have served their purpose!
Hopefully ALL these trip reports by the various authors will ultimately inspire more of you to take keyboard in hand and type up
your travels to share here on the DIS. After all, when a vacation ends, you are still left with the remaining 96% of the year. Why not live it vicariously through others? Hey, if we all space our trips out across the year and share our reports accordingly, we can all live in a harmoniously happy 24/7, 365.25 days per year "DISney" world!
(Mind you -- I'm already there! So join me -- the more, the merrier!)

Oh, I snagged some smilies off ya too!
Well, I'm no Nick@VB+OKW
(those of you who frequent the DVC board will catch the reference; he was the Smiley King and we miss him...
). Personally I love smileycentral.com... Try it sometime, it's free! (Some of the smileys are way too -- how shall I say this, crude? -- for my use, but they still have lots of other cool socially acceptable ones !)

gopherit-what is your real name...
My mother named me "Cynthia" many moons ago, and most folks abbreviate that to "Cindy", but you'll find I also respond to "Mommy", "Mom", "Ma", "Missus Evan's/Ryan's/Caroline's Mom", "Cindyleenerjosepheener"
(a long story, don't ask), "Mufferinobandolino"
(a REALLY long story - definitely don't ask), "Hey You", "Lady", and "Nutball in the Swedish Chef Shirt", just to name a few. And also "Gopherit", of course. Hey, whatever works -- I'm just flexible like that!
One more time -- thanks again to all of you for taking the time to read and post!!
