Hey Cindy

I just called the Board of Ed - and OOPS, no applications available now (they ran out!) so I'll have to wait til next week. Again, she mentioned the finger printing, but nothing about the CPR....plus I know someone told me we do a physical thru their docs (fun).

And don't feel bad about the school! I've been going for 8/9 years now! (LOL) So that's why I'm so excited about FINALLY graduating next year!!!! :Pinkbounc

Take care, Alex

OH....and she did say I have to pay $50 to get my sub certificate - so I guess that'll be good for the discount! YAY!!!

Don't worry about the physical! Its painless! They didn't make me pay for it, but that was after I was an employee and my contract was signed.

I won't have to pay for my sub certificate, but that may be because I am already in the district.. I just call them up when I get 60, and I am a sub.

I booked the 129 gov rate directly thru the dolphin, after taxes and resort fees it comes out to 153/night. If I book thru somewhere else that offers the rate like dreams unlimited or something is the rate closer to the 129, ie does the resort fee get dropped, etc? Or is it essentially 153/night? Just making sure I actually booked it correctly. Thanks.

I would post this on the resorts board to get a definitive answer on this. I have heard that you can drop the resort fee of some type. I'm not sure how that is done, but I have heard that it can be done. Taxes, you really can't do much about it

Hey look at all the Jersey Girls! Katrina, I would be most interested in hearing what you find out about your question.... if you DO find out, would you PM me? Thanks. :)

And what I wanna know is - I thought the Swan AND the Dolphin were virtually the same hotel (2 buildings with just 2 diff names, otherwise, the same) - so why is one cheaper than the other??

Look at all us Jersey girls.. thats pretty funny. As for the hotel being different, I would check on the Disney Resorts Board, they should be able to tell you. Thats a very good question why they aren't the same price. $153 does seem high even with a discount..

Ok here's what I found out....129/night after taxes is 153 because of the 10 resort fee/day and taxes. Only 1 person seemed to be able to get out of the resort fee and that was questioned. The taxes are standard for any fl hotel including wdw owned hotels so 153 is correct regardless of how you book it, oh well.
Swan vs dolphin hotel and pricing difference...yes the dolphin is cheaper. They aren't the same hotel one's owned by sheraton the other by westin (not sure which is which). The swan has just completed renovations, hence the more expensive rate. Dolphin is in the process of renovations and should be done soon, though I've read different dates. The dolphin is bigger, has more restaurants including the refillable mug place, and is closer for many rooms to the grotto pool. To me the cheaper room, even if its not renovated makes more sense. I guess its just a matter of preference.
Yes 153/night is high but it is a 4star resort in epcot. I've stayed at bwv's before and the location can't be beat, and you won't come close to that at bw or ybc so unless I can get an amazing code in jan for a AAA rate at the wildnerness, poly or contempory that's where we are staying. Plus if you watch the boards the dolphin is running a 99 rate for labor day right now, so it might go lower anyway, after taxes that'd be about 125/night....point being I'm paying for convience at this point at a fairly good price.
