I’m a Disneyland vet, but I’ve only been to WDW once, 20 years ago... This was my first year to get an annual pass to DLR and I’ve been so sad that it’s still closed! I’m considering a solo trip to WDW (too expensive/complicated to take DH or the kids - he’s been pushing me to consider this) the weekend before Halloween, and I was trying to figure out if it would be better / more cost effective to stay at the Dolphin ($850 for 4 nights) or stay offsite for more like $450 in a highly rated hotel and rent a car for 5 days. Pros/cons/warnings? I plan other people’s DLR trips with my eyes closed, but I don’t know what’s best here.

Just quick advice about comparing prices, remember you will have to pay to park the car at the hotel and at the parks if you are off site, so this can add up quickly and get your prices much closer together (assuming you don’t rent a car if you stay at Swan). Usually $20+ for hotel parking plus $20+ to park at the parks. There are good deals on Pop on the HotWire Hot Deals for less than $100 a day (depending on when you go).
