On-Site Hotel Perk Question

We are planning on spending a few nights at one of the on-site hotels between a short trip to WDW and a cruise (leaning towards Portofino Bay but may end up with the Royal Pacific Hotel) and so the Express Pass is appealing (I know it won't work in the WWoHP).

If we're considering doing three days in the parks, and want to use the Express Pass each day, do we need to book three nights at a hotel, or does the perk begin the day we check in?

In other words, if we want to go to the parks Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, do we need to stay Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night, or can we check in on Monday, head to the parks at that time with the Express Pass, and enjoy the parks that day and the following two? If you get the perk for the day you arrive, what time can you begin using it? We're planning on sandwiching this between a DVC stay and a Disney cruise and so we are excited to try a new place with our family!

Nevermind, silly me forgot to look at the FAQs at the top of the page!

Question answered and everything makes sense! What a cool perk!

that's okay.
homies get a question in their mind and it is easy to post it before looking at the stickies.

we all do it sometimes.

your express line usage begins from the day you check into the hotel until the day you check out.

once you check in, use the room key at the kiosk to make your express pass card.

everyone in your party needs to do that.

if you lose the express pass card in the park, go to guest services.
they will cancel out the one you lost and have a new one made at guest service kiosk.

(I know it won't work in the WWoHP)

It works on Flight of the Hippogriff and Dragon Challenge.

It doesn't work with Forbidden Journey and Ollivanders'.

Just to be crystal clear! :)

Is this new? We haven't stayed on site in a few years and are planning on a night this summer. In the past it was just a matter of showing your room key at the line entrance and having it scanned.

This procedure started sometime last year I believe. From what I understand, people were giving their room keys to others to use which is against policy. So know your picture is on the EP from the kiosk.

They weren't just giving them away, they were getting as many as room occupancy would allow and selling them.

OMG...that's even worse! Those people should have been flogged! :duck:

so true metro.
this had been happening for a number of years.

so, the printed express pass for onsite guests started to prevent that fraud.
