Hi everyone,
I have been reading about ECV rental as my father in law will be joining us for our annual Disney trip- all the extended family will be there. They will be off site. Thanks to your forum we think we have it narrowed down to on site ECV rentals, despite higher cost. The question I have is can another guest rent the ECV (i.e. myself) early in the am to ensure we get one, then give it to our father in law when he arrives a little later(mid morning)? If so can we just leave it at the rental site and meet him there when he arrives ?

Many thanks for any insight
Martin

I would rent it and use it until he arrives, then give it to him yourself. I don't believe the staff would hold it for someone else for you after you sign for it.

from what I have found you can rent for him but you are going to have to take with you when you rent. plus remember that the ECV can not be taken out of park to meet them. he is going to have to get from parking to main gate. if he has handicapped parking at MK there is no tram from that area to either the ferry or monorail. it is a slightly uphill walk from that area with car going by you while walking on sidewalk. you can drop off at TTC before parking but not at gate for MK. there may and I mean may be wheelchairs in Parking lot to help getting him to gate but I would not plan on it

thank you both for your reply- I may have to rethink this. We didn't think off site rental would be as practical as he would have to use public transportation to load/unload ECV, whereas with in park rental he can get a lift to park entrance (or TTC in case of MK) in the rented minivan with the rest of the family, and then just rent on park arrival. Hmmm

there are rental ECVs that break down and fit in trunk of car/ back of some minivans. talk to the rental place. you then put together and use from parking lot. one of my coworkers uses one at work. she is able to do by herself. one more thing to look at. I assume others have but Walker Mobility have one that lists to break down for transportation
