Hi all,

Have a quick question that might help others.

I am booked on a cruise in January. The eastern cruise before mine has been reduced twice now. It is 200.00 cheaper then mine. Has this happened to you? What if it happens on my dates?

If mine was to go down, how is this dealt with? I am booked directly with DCL. And the affected cat is Cat 11, the one I am currently book in. Should I call them? Can I even get the reduction? Is it only for new bookings? How close to sailing can you get a reduction if any?

Lots of questions, hope for some experienced answers.

Penny Thanks

If the price for your sailing / category is reduced, call them (either DCL if you booked directly, or your TA) and ask them to give you the same reduction. Just be sure that you factor in any onboard credit from your first booking that you may not get with a price reduction.

Disney will match the price on any cruise that they reduce IF you (or your travel agent if you booked thru an agent) contact them. They will not make you aware of the reduction (you need to find out about it and contact them). This applies only if they reduce the same category and dates you are booked in. You will lose any onboard credit or other perks you had applied to the first cruise, but it is still frequently a better deal to get the money.

For instance, if you paid $799 per person for 2 people and got a $200 onboard credit, and they then cut the price to $599 per person, you would get $400 back, but would no longer get the onboard credit. Still, you come out ahead.

Since you booked directly thru DCL, you contact them directly.

Do they ever have a reduction in points for those of us who book with DVC points? Or is a reduced rate only available to $$$ cruisers?

No,they dont reduce the number of points needed for a cruise. It would be nice though::yes::

They have had cruises where the number of points was reduced, but they were announced before the cruises were booked. This usually happens in the fall, and DVC sends you a mailing if there is a special.
