I am gathering info for some friends to see if they want to come on the cruise. When I look at the prices, 9A is 2,998.51 and 10A is 3,173.51. I thought 10A is better? What am I missing??

If I remember correctly 10A is an inside stateroom with a VIRTUAL PORTHOLE....
That is probably the reason why it's more expensive then the 9A (Ocean View).

what is a virtual porthole? I guess I am thinking of our 10A on the PCC 2.0, inside no view...

That gives you a live feed from outside the ship..it will also have Disney characters swimming through it.

I would have thought the real ocean view from a porthole would have been more expensive then the virtual one. Interesting...

In a twist of Disney Imagineering, Magic, and marketing, they have created the Virtual Portholes that have caused many people to decide that at least for their first trip on the Dream they want to have this new experience. Disney has also decided that they would have fewer inside staterooms then on the Magic class ships. If you remember simple economics from college you'll remember the supply-demand charts. If demand is high and supply is low...prices go up. Hence the lower category 10A insides are going for more then the outside view 9A's. :thumbsup2

This is not only for PCC 3.0 but a lot of sailings on the Dream. The virtual porthole rooms are selling faster and with DCLs tier system as stateroom fill the price goes up.

A lot of people want these rooms so the tier pricing is going up faster than other stateroom caregories - at some point these will sell out and only outside staterooms will be left.

We initially had a virtual porthole room but switched a 9A for only few dollars - although the virtual porhole would have been cool, we would prefer a slightly larger room.

i have been in the cruise business for years, what they did with those inside staterooms is genius. Who would have ever though an inside would be pricing more than an ocean view. I have to give them credit, that is a killer move !!
