Ok here's the 411, we'll be at the Nick Hotel for 2 days in two weeks...we are priority reward customers so I understand we qualify for late check out. Now my question is ...on checkout day if we would leave to go get lunch offsite can we get back in? Or is it once we leave on check out day we're done, but if we stay we can stay till closing? Thanks for clearing this up for me.

Oh another thing can you tell me what I should do when I check-in as far as the pool games and night time shows? Specifics would be great. Thanks again.

bumping because we'll be there next month and have some of the same questions!

I guess I should just call uh? I'll report back.

Ok I just called and they told me when we check out at 11 we will no longer be able to use their facilities. She said they sent a memo out. Well I didn't get the memo!! And that sucks do you guys really think that's true? I only booked one night figuring we'd have two days there from past posts I read.

Could you just check your bags with bell hop and come back to get them later in the day.

Yay! Nick Hotel! (just had to do it.) I really do love that hotel though, I hope you guys enjoy it!

I'm not really concerned about our bags we'll only have an overnight bag and our own car so we can put the stuff in the car but I just thought we'd get to stay there a little longer on the second day. I thought we could have a late checkout and by 1 that would be fine we might be ready to go by then anyway after being there all day the day before. Just not what I was expecting but I'm sure it'll all work out ok for us and we'll still have fun. We're surprising the kids they think we're going to Blizzard Beach for the day and we'll pull in here, can't wait.

well that's a bummer. I'm getting the impression that they're trying to herd as many people through as fast as possible  And for what it's worth, I didn't get a memo either and no one told me when I booked.

we'll have our own car too, so the bags are not an issue. Our bigger concern is that we want to check in early. We were hoping to check in more like 11:00 or 12:00 and not 4:00. Spend the afternoon by the pool, go out and get a light dinner, more time by the pool and then off to bed. The next day spent entirely at the pool, breaking only for dinner. The next day, our check out day, I don't know that we're going to swim, unless we can get late check out, which that doesn't sound likely, we will probably just get on the road and headed home. Doesn't sound like they are very flexible though. Bummer. Our kids are also going to be surprised. They know we're going to visit my grandparents, then they think we are headed home. In actuality we are headed to Orlando, two nights at Seralago and one day at AK (we have vouchers from our last trip) and then on to the Nick Hotel for two nights. They have no clue about the Orlando part, I think they'll be excited, especially my oldest who asked if we could go there last year when we drove by it. I hope your surprise turns out well!!!!

AHHHH...Am I reading this right? We only have one night booked too!.....We were planning on staying later than the check out time to enjoy the pools, etc. We also were going to arrive early on check in day - 11 or 12ish & do the same. (Now I'm wondering if they're still allowing use of their facilities for early arrivals as well!(?) I too read here on the Dis that they allowed both....So is this no longer allowed?? Can anyone confirm??.....Anyone been to Nick recently (since this "memo")??

When I called they said we could check in early at 1 and start to use the facilities but probably not get into our room till 4, I figure I'm going at noon anyway and hope they start the check in process. In the morning he told me we can use the pools for $25/hour after checkout. Well like someone else said I plan to take our bags down to the car b/4 checkout and just send my husband to actually do the checking out while the kids and I stay at the pool. Unless they give out different color wristbans everyday I don't see how they'll know..so I'm not going to worry about that part. I was just thinking we could go offsite get lunch and still maybe come back in and swim on the day we checked out till close..I mean geez that's how indoor water parks do it.

I'm sure it will all work out fine, it's just I was thrown for a loop there but now I'm ok with it. When we've went to indoor water parks the kids were ready to go by lunch the 2nd day so I'm sure it'll be fine. We are staying a week at the Vistana and couldn't add any more time onto our vacation so we're just going to leave the resort for a night to go to Nick. Hope you have a good time too:goodvibes

and someone posted a report that they just returned and to keep your wristbands on after you checkout because you are free to use the facilities that day. I hope that is correct because we too are Priority members and were under the assumption that we could check out around 1pm and still use the pools. But it sounds like we can just check out, put our bags in the car and still use the pool. I have had the experience of getting different answers from different people when I have called regarding a discount code. So I guess we will just see when we arrive next month! :cool1:

Have fun!!

I'll be there thursday for 3 days before we go to west palm beach. i'll let you know when I get back. My children (especially ds) have been asking to go here for awhile.

Thanks ValDisney I'll be looking for your post!! Have a great time:banana:

Good luck getting your PC benefits honored. I'm a Plat level PC member, and I've stayed there 3 times, and all 3 times my benefits were denied. I had to call IHG Guest Relations to get a late checkout the last 2 times.

we stayed at the nick for 3 nights. You def can checkout and still use the pool. I did express checkout from my room, and packed up the car. We still had our wristbands on so if we went to the pool nobody would know it was our checkout day.
we did leave and go to Typhoon lagoon (was great).
I am not sure about checking out and leaving the grounds though bc you need your car to get back in the parking lot (gates.
so no worries if you want to stay after you checkout.
I got a great rate at travelzoo. i would not pay rack rate for this place. The rooms were clean and the pool was fun but after 2 days my children were happy to go to the Typhoon lagoon water park. The water park at nick had a few nice slides but it was not likea major water park.
They did like it enough to want to go back but if I'm doing disney, I'd rather stay on-site. We did the character breakfast and my ds loved it. He loves his characters. it was a buffet and the food was good.
we had the buffet dinner there one night (it was ok)

Hope that answers any questions. I'm in South florida now just relaxing.

and someone posted a report that they just returned and to keep your wristbands on after you checkout because you are free to use the facilities that day. :

The wrist bands are color coded with the day of your check out. I tried and tried to figure out on our last visit why everybody had a different color and then the lifeguard told me that. So, if they no longer let you use the facilities after check out (they used to but have changed so much lately) they will know by the color of your bracelet that you shouldn't be there. That is a bummer if they have changed that rule, but it wouldn't surprise me either. They are making it so that they are so exclusive that it isn't worth it there. I do love the hotel, but I think they have gotten ridiculous.

I was just there and it the color of the wristbands had to do with your age. adults wore blue and children under 5 wore orange (so they would know who ate free) and older childen wore a different color i forgot the color) Those were the only 3 colors that people had on.

ValDisney is right we just got back from the Nick. Checked in yesterday at 11:30 and got a room right away. This morning I just checked out from the phone in my room and we stayed for a little while and swam in the pools. It was a nice place I think my DS6 enjoyed it the most while DD11 & DD8 definetely loved the pool side games and the nightly show..which we did get picked to go up on stage:banana: But having experienced it once I don't think we'll be going back. We had told the kids we were going to Blizzard Beach for the day then surprised them w/the Nick Hotel and the girls were actually upset that we weren't going to BB (little brats!ha), I thought they'd be so tickled to stay there...but they really like the Disney Water Parks and this doesn't even come close comparing to that. I personally think it's more for the 4 -7 yr old kids. But don't sweat the check out people it's not an issue.
