Well not until July 30 of next year, but it's the first step in the Disney addiction! I can't wait! We (wife, twin 7 year olds & a very active 2 year old) did a timeshare exchange into a 2 bdrm at the Polynesian Isles. My sister's family will be at one of the Marriott's. The way I initially figure it, we'd like to do a day at Disney, Epcot, Sea World, a relaxation day at either pools. We're very close to the Walmart, so we can prepare food. Like I'm sure it is for everyone, money is a concern, so we'll be preparing food in our unit. I see a lot of tickets for the theme parks, food coupons and Arabian Nights on ebay... how is purchasing tickets that way go on this board? any helpful hints from here-forward would be great in the 11 month planning phase???????????? thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome!

It looks like you have a wonderful trip planned.

With regards to tickets, I would steer well clear of tickets on eBay. There is no way of telling whether there are any unused days on. You literally take the sellers word for it and it is really not worth getting to the park and finding out that you have been sold worthless bits of paper. Rather go with a reputable company like Maple Leaf or through Disney. There are also many other good companies that sell genuine theme park tickets. Selling unused Disney tickets is strictly speaking, not legal. You are finger printed when you activate your ticket to lock your ID into your ticket for this very reason. So even if you bought a ticket with plenty days on it, if it has ever been used, it will not allow you to access the turstiles. I would hate for you to be caught out.

Remember to ask as many questions as you need to. You will soon be an expert on all things Disney. :goodvibes

good advice on the ebay front- thank you.

as mentioned i'll have twin 7 year olds and a 2 yr. old girls. one twin's fav is snow white, the other is cinderella. what would you recommend to make this a kick-butt trip? i want to look into character meals (although i haven't gotten that far into disboards to find it yet). suggestions?

As PP mentioned I would avoid Ebay like the plague. The same with any "side of the road" sellers you may see as you drive around Orlando. Unless they are an authorized ticket seller you may be setting yourself up for a very expensive mistake.

Do look into the Character Meals as there are several with the Princesses that your children will love, including one held inside of Cinderella's Castle. For a real splurge I would look at the Bibbidy Bobbidi Boutique (usually referred to here as BBB). You can see some information and photos here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/downtown/marketplace/index.htm There are also quite a few threads on it on the boards if you do a search.

Welcome from a fellow newbie. My advise, sign up for mousesavers dot com newsletter and read up on their site for good tips, they will guide you to undercovertourist for some discounted tickets. The reality is though that for disney there are no deeply discounted tickets available...anywhere

Have good time planning, I know I'm!

Well, when you say you are doing Disney and Epcot, I assume you mean Magic Kingdom and Epcot, correct? There are 4 parks at Disney - Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. I usually advise most new people to do at least 4 to 6 days at Disney. That way you can do 2 days MK, 2 days EP, 1 day DHS and 1 day AK. But if you are only doing 2 days, then MK and EP are good choices, just know that you won't be able to see everything in those 2 parks in 2 days, especially with young children in tow.

As for character meals in and around MK and EP, there is 1900 Park Fare at The Grand Floridian Resort in the MK area, Cinderella's Royal Table in MK in the Castle, The Crystal Palace with Pooh and Friends in MK, Chef Mickey's at the Contemorary Resort in the MK area, Princess Storybook Meal at Akershus in Epcot and Garden Grill with Mickey & Friends at Epcot. You can see pincesses everday in Magic Kingdom. Currently and in the past they have always been available at the Judge's Tent in Toontown at MK, but I think they will be knocking Toontown down around the first of the year and the new construction at MK will be going on when you are there in July, so I'm not sure where they will be greetting next summer. In Epcot you can find Snow White in Germany, Mulan in China, Jasmine in Morroco, Belle in France and Alice in Great Britain.
