On-line reservations versus over the phone

Hi everyone!

I have had a 5 nights booked for room only in May and just found the 25%-45% offer that Disney is offering for room only through Juen 3rd.

Just checked on line and my dates are available...woohoo!! So I was going to just book on line so I can make sure that I can get the rate and then cancel the first reservation I have, but I have a question. It looks like if I book on line that I have to cancel at least 45 days ahead of my arrival to receive my full refund. But when I booked the first one over the phone it's only 5 days ahead of my arrival. We don't have our airfares yet and I have not convinced my husband 100% to go yet so I like the 5 days versus 45 days cancellation policy. Could this be true that it's better to book over the phone versus on line?

I'm soo worried that if I call tomorrow at 7am the dates won't be available anymore.

I believe the 5 days versus the 45 days is the difference between booking just a room and booking a package. It is the package that has to either be cancelled or paid in full at the 45 day mark in order to not incur any penalities. Room only reservations have different cancellation policites than the packages do.

Packages are when you purchase tickets and/or the dining plan along with the room.

I called first thing this morning at 7am EST and the dates and room type were no longer available. I am SOOO bummed I did not book on line last night. Ancestry you are correct-The CM told me that the 45 days is for packages and the 5 days is for room only.

I'm so bummed and mad that I didn't book last night!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So after playing around all morning on the website I figured something out. I originally had a AAA rate for 5 nights at AKL. Unfortunately as of this morning when I called the 5 nights for AKL at 40% off special, AKL was not available. So I played around all morning and figured something out. I realized that I could do 1 reservation for 4 nights and 1 for 1 night and get the 35% off each night for AKL. I called and spoke with a really really nice CM and she did that for me. She linked the 2 reservations together. Now I'm just hoping that they don't make me switch rooms for some crazy reason after the 1 night reservation. The CM said that could happen but really doubted it since it was the same type of room. Kinda crazy that I or the CM couldn't just book it all under 1 reservation # but the system wouldn't let me or the CM do it. Even thought it was not the 40% off it's 35% and better then the AAA rate.
