When doing online check in, what choices (if any) are available. I have a HA room, and there's only one of the kind I reserved (tub with rails) on each floor. I figure there's no sense asking for "near elevator" since HA rooms are always near the elevator. All I'd like is a high floor-I don't like first floor when I'm solo. Do they have the option to request a high floor, or is it better for me to Email MS?

I would just add...I understand that 7-days prior is the optimum time, because that's when front desk CMs start planning out room assignments for the coming week.

I submit mine as soon as I know what it is, so that I don't forget!

And also thinking that if two or more people request the same thing for the same night, first come, first served might apply. I guess that goes back to the days when Boardwalk view was just a request, and you'd better put it in when you booked your Preferred View villa or you wouldn't have a chance of getting it.

Do you get feedback from MS when you email them far in advance? When I do the request by online chat, they invariably ask me to make the request not earlier than 7-days (at least in 2019 when I first joined DVC). Admittedly I haven't tried to request earlier than that in recent years.

My experience has been with VGC, by far the most frequent resort we stay at. We've had good success with park views whenever I request 7-days out. The odds fall substantially less than 7-days out. Interestingly, front desk check-in CMs must not be able to see certain info that leads must be able to see. I've noticed multiple times at VGC front desk that they don't have my cell number on file, nor my room request (whether I end up on a high floor with park view or not).

I usually get an email saying that my request has been noted but isn’t guaranteed. I don’t make very specific requests - usually only “high floor” or similar - in hopes that there will be lots of options for the room assigners.

That's all I need to request, but I want to know if "high floor" can be requested with on-line check in, or do I need to contact DVC member services?
 
Contact MS. The options during online aren’t as good.
OK, don't mind doing that. I just had a very good experience with them regarding room requests. Made requests for our Thanksgiving at DHHIR, and got the auto response within a few minutes. The next day they Emailed to say it was done. Did the same last year, and our requests were met. Hoping it's the same this year.
