On-line Check In - to do or not?

Should I do on line check in? Did once before & I still had to go through whole process when we got to hotel. Please give advice.

We do and they've improved drastically over the last year or so.We just don't add a credit card and just pay as we go.

Reports are that starting today (2/10), Disney is rolling out the skip the front desk service that they tested last year.

To participate, you must link a CC during on-line check-in, enter either a phone number or email address for notification and have your MagicBands mailed to you.

Thanks for the heads up Michael. We never got to test it. So have all of the bugs been worked out with online checkin and DVC reservations?

Online check in was designed to save Disney money, allow them to reduce front desk CM's and move guests to their rooms faster. It was designed for the cash resorts, especially the convention resorts that check in hundreds of guests in a short period of time.

DVC was added to online check in even though it usually didn't save any time and the pre-defined requests didn't apply to DVC rooms.

Due to various issues and tests, skipping the front desk didn't happen until now. We tried a front desk skip and the room door wouldn't open. It took about 45 minutes and a call to tech support for the front desk to get us access.

We've used online check in multiple times and each time everything went off very quickly and smoothly. the one time I did not use it recently the check in process was definitely slower. We will always use it going forward.

We will be using it for the first time this week at Kidani...also our first trip here in general. I know Kidani has the indoor parking does that mean we will have to visit the desk anyway?
