On-line Check In Issues, Room Request

We are renting DVC points through a company. When I go to do on-line check in, and get to the part about submitting room requests, I get the pop up window where you are supposed to be able to put in your request, but I can't type anything in it. Through my google search, it seems this is a common problem with the check-in system, but I'm not sure how to proceed.

Can I call member services to add my room request even though I'm not a DVC member? Is there another way of doing it, e-mail or fax? Should I still do on-line check in, or wait till we arrive to check-in? If I don't do on-line check in, can I still set up Magical Express?

Any suggestions or feedback would be helpful! Thanks!

You as a renter are not allowed any contact with MS. I would go back to the people you are paying and have them add your requests.

The online check-in system does not allow "free form" requests, just the check boxes.

What the others said is correct.

To your other question, you do not need to check in online to use magical express. You merely need to be listed as staying at a Disney resort on the day you use the service. You actually don't even need to arrange it ahead of arrival, although I would recommend that you should.

You can still use Magical Express, yes. But first you'll have to make sure it IS set up for you. You'll want to make sure the owners did that for you. Or you might try this site. It's what I generally use to set up DME.

What do you mean you don't need to arrange for it? (ON-LINE CHECK-IN OR DME) If DME, Wrong. For arrival to MCO, you need to reserved DME. Some people have been lucky and just showed up and got on but that's not the norm. If you don't set it up ahead of time you won't get yellow tags for your bags. DME has a deal with MCO about walks on (I think). Someone else correct me if I'm wrong. For coming home you can do it at the resort or before you go down to WDW.
doing on-line check-in does not make it quicker. I did it twice and was in line longer than the regular line.

The agreement Disney has with MCO does require the guest to make advance reservations for DME

It appears some folks got lucky but if Disney starts ignoring the agreement depend on the taxi and limo services to start screaming which will remind Disney to play by the rules.

Paults, I used to also think that was true, but have understood from many sources that DME can now make you an "advance reservation" right at the counter when you arrive, for immediate transportation.

Disney doesn't mention this on their site, largely because they really want the advance reservations for their head count for bus route staffing. But it can be done.

Bottom line, if you didn't make your reservation when you booked and are reading this, go online to the DVC member site and schedule from there, or call 407-939-1936 to schedule DME directly.

But if by accident you arrive to MCO without having pre-booked, do go to the DME desk before you pay for a taxi. It is almost certain that they will indeed transport you to your on-property lodging for free.

Never knew this. Kind of goes against the deal Disney and MCO have.
