on line adrs? how is it going?

I just did a little trial run of this, seemed ok but I will have alot of adrs and I think calling will be better for me. Anyone else have thoughts on this yet?

I have been ready to throw my computer out the window. :headache:

But I am trying to get a CRT ressie for a Make a Wish family for JULY... which are completely sold out, of course...so that is probably the source of my frustration more than the website itself. ::yes::

This sweet family had to move their trip dates to leave ASAP because her child is not doing well. :sad2: So they did not even have the 90 day window that the rest of us get. :sad: And they don't get to "try again next year."

I am calling every day, too. But was hoping there was some loophole in the system that would magically allow me to book it online when they don't think there are any spots left. I have even tried different party sizes online...I am willing to pay double to get them there...so I have looked for tables for 6, etc. No dice.

I've witnessed WDW really go out of their way in the past to try to help Make A Wish families, even on the cruise line, and especially in the parks. I'd call guest services, or anywhere with a live voice operated by Disney, and see what they can do for you. Best of luck to you in this. :thumbsup2

I really don't want anyone to give up an ADR they would use! Really!

I have posted it on the Restaurant board and the TRADE/CANCEL July Thread. I tried to post an open request on the Dining board, but it was moved to the Cancel thread - so I am double posted over there. If someone cancels, we will hopefully be able to call quick and get it. I am watching that thread closely from my iPhone. ::yes::

This issue happens a lot for Wish Families, but usually they are able to get something...but this is such major peak season and they have had very little warning. The frustrating thing on this one is that this child is actually considered terminal and her Mom had been planning her trip for October...so she had her restaurants she wanted all lined up, has spent hours on here like the rest of us uber planners, with CRT being at the top of the list.

Most Wish families either don't plan at all or do have enough time to plan to actually make ADR's.

There are actually about 150 Wish Families each week at Disney...so the wish organizations really don't have much pull...believe it or not! There are a lot of wish kids in Disney each day.

But many of them are life threatening (like Lauren) and most will hopefully have a chance to go back at some point in the next few years (provided their care goes well, etc)...very few of the wish kids I know from the DIS are considered terminal/hospice. So this is a special case IMO.

I really hope...if we are not able to get one for them in time...that they are able to fix it when they get to Disney. The CM's are very kind to wish families and if they can make it happen, they will. The family will check with the CM's when they first get to Disney and hopefully there is something open for the 3 Disney Days that they get for their wish trip.

It would be great pixie dust for this single Mom, though, and a relief to her, if we can go ahead and get it somehow before they go.

Several of the DISers are calling on her behalf, so hopefully we will get something!

And I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to "trick" the ADR system online into letting me reserve them something, too. I figure as soon as someone cancels, it should be bookable online...so I refresh that screen a lot. I hope I don't crash the site. :rotfl:

I got a live person at the ADR line yesterday that was very nice...and she transferred me to a Wish Community Relations person in guest services...but they said there really was no where for them to put them...to ask when they got to Disney.

I feel like it will work out for them when they get there...because then they will have "proof" with them they are a wish family...right now they would just have to take my word for it.

Everyone I have talked to has been very kind and helpful...just no ressie yet! But I will continue to try "legally" and hope someone cancels and I call at the right time.

Has anyone successfully used the online ADR system? My 90 day window is on Monday and I'm hoping this site is easy to use and less of a hassle than calling and waiting on hold for an hour.
For anyone who has used the system, do they open up the 90 days at 7am like they do for the phone lines? Can you do the 10 days in advance like you can on the phone?
 
Just keep checking online anytime you think about it. I have had great success making ADR's online. There are 2 (Chef Mickeys dinner for 8/2 and Le Cellier dinner for 8/4) I have been trying to get for about a month and I called every day sometimes 2-3 times a day and nothing. The 1st time I tried the online system I got Le Cellier for 4:10 PM (still a little earlier then I would like but better then the 1:00 PM I originally made my ressie for) and then yesterday I finally got Chef Mickeys for 6:10 PM which is exactly what I wanted. So just a few minutes ago I was bored so I decided to check Le Cellier and I got the same day but 5:45 PM :thumbsup2:banana:So I am happy now but I have had such luck that I am afraid it's too good to be true. I will call tomorrow to confirm these reservations before I cancel the times I had. But for now I will have to say I :love: the new system. However I am a lot closer then the 90 day mark if I wasn't I wouldn't like it so much because I am DVC so it does not recognize my reservation so I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the 90+10.
 
Oh so if I have a reservation number it will let me do the 90 + 10 online?

It opens at 6am so it gives you the opportunity to try online and then ring if you need to at 7am.

weird, I played with it today and for AUG I keep getting CRT as an option and I am not looking for it :confused3

I havent done any yet, but it adds to the confusion of where to go for me... too many choices lol
