I actually love Last Christmas and Careless Whisper.

Me too! I only get to listen to it if no one else is in the car though .

One of my favorite's that make no sense is Toby Keith's "Dream Walking":

What?! Who meets someone, takes them home, sleeps with them and has no clue what their name is? Isn't that usually the first sentence "Hi, my name is______"?

As for Bennie and the Jets, if you look at the illustration on the album, it makes perfect sense and would have been typical of rock acts in the 70s. Nothing was too outlandish. Bennie wore a mohair suit, electric boots (lit up) and the fan (singer) had read about it all in a magazine. It was written from the persective of a fan, most likely a teen, who soaked up every tidbit of info and trivia they could find regarding Bennie (the lead singer) and the Jets (the supporting group).....back then, that would have been in teen magazines like Tiger Beat, etc.

I HATE this song. But it's funny to sing along with when my teenagers are in the car, they get SO mad at me.

Actually that song isn't really a RATED G song....its more of an rated R, but hopefully the YOUNG kids do not understand it.....BUT....Most teenagers do understand it and my teen DS(17) doesnt want me to sing it either!!!

That's Short People by Randy Newman, who, by the way, does most of the music for the Toy Story/Pixar movies these days. I've never heard that it was banned - what for????
