Diane Sawyer is interviewing the family and the mother just doesn't understand why some people think that hiring a stripper for your son's 16th birthday is not a good thing. lol

The mom was arrested after the worker at Walgreen called the police after developing the pictures they took at the party. (The mom waited a year to get the film developed).

Anyone else just see this??

P.S. This wasn't just an "exotic dancer", they said at one point she was totally naked. :earseek:

this is the same kind of parent that will provide a keg for her kids high school graduation.

Some people just don't get it.

And the same kind of parent that says "My kids do nothing wrong, but everyone else's do."

Well now that's been big news around here lately. A home owner was arrested for doing just that. I think the homeowner made a valid point:

He and several other parents of teens decided they did NOT want their children out drinking tp celebrate graduation but knew that they would somehow regardless so they let them invite friends over for a party. The adults took the keys from every guest. I just don't see how that is overly irresponsible. You know your kid is going to do it, why not put yourself in a situation to monitor it and make it happen under your terms. When I was in HS there were many a night I should not have been on the road or with people that should not have been on the road and if people say "not my kid" they are kidding themselves.

while I agree with this (in principal)...I will say that these kids are still UNDERAGE. and it is illegal for someone over 21 to provide liquor to someone under 21.

kids have plenty of time to "drink" after they turn 21...why start them off so young?

I don't disagree with the underage thing but I also didn't know anyone in HS that didn't drink, of my 5 younger siblings I know everyone of them had a drink in HS, etc. It's just like sex- sure, some will wait but if the majority is gonna do it, may as well make sure they are safe.

Completely off the stripper topic, but I don't understand why young adults are allowed ( and encouraged) to join the military at 18 years of age, get deployed and possibly sent to war, but they can't have a beer until they are 21! They're old enough to get killed in the name of their country, but not mature enough to handle a drink. ***???

Did you hear Diane Sawyer ask if they might be facing jail time and the mother replied "yes, we both have felonies and one misdeamenor". :rolleyes1

Wonderful role models these parents are.

hmmmm why not just throw a dry party for the same bunch of kids....

this sends an interesting signal, you are basically telling your kids, if you want to do something I don't want you to do, tell me up front and I'll help you do it..

That's right. Those people are often the ones that say but "my child" was always such a good kid when something awful happens. I'd rather be criticized from those that "don't get it" then get the dreaded phone call that tragedy happened.

Clearly it's a divided subject.

Back on topic- the stripper- yes, the nakedness was a bit much but just for entertainment purposes but suprise, I don't see it warranting a felony for cripes sake.

I don't think they are getting charged with a felony for having the stripper - my understanding of the situation was that the parents ALREADY had other felony convictions on their record, so being convicted of these charges would result in jail time for them.

As for drinking, I never drank in high school, and neither did any of my friends.
