from the Poly?
or would it be easier to stop at the Boardwalk Hess on the way over to the Swan?

It's not really safe (or at all safe) to walk anywhere from the Poly with the exception of the Grand Floridian or the TTC because there are paths. There really are no sidewalks in WDW for getting from place to place and there's quite a bit of traffic as well.

It would not be close anyway. The other Hess would be a better choice if you don't have a car AND you're in the area -- like already at the Boardwalk or Fantasia Gardens or something (or on your way to the Swan).

Not sure how you were planning on getting there though and carry your purchases?

We were at the Poly last month, you can take a bus from Poly to Downtown Disney and get off at Pleasure Island, there is a Hess Gas Station directly across the street, if you exit at Downtown Disney, you'll have to walk a little further. The Hess gas station sits right on the corner at the light. :)

If you are going to the swan anyway the boardwalk is a very short walk from the swan or if you choose not to walk you can hop on the water taxi from the swan to the boardwalk but it would be quicker to walk from the swan! Maybe 5 min walk tops!

Why do you need to go to a gas station if you dont have a car?? lol Kidding..I know you want supplies :)

Take an empty suitcase(with wheels) and you have an instant grocery carrier.

It's walkable from the Boardwalk, though you will need to be very careful crossing Epcot Resorts Blvd; traffic moves fast through there and ther are few pedestrians, so motorists are not always on the lookout as they should be.

There is a paved trail on the Boardwalk side of the road, so stay on that side till you are directly accross from the Hess station, then carefully cross.

Have a look at this map; the Boardwalk is in the upper left corner, Hess is in the lower right corner.

I can't remember...would it be feasable to take a taxi from the Poly to Hess (car care center, near MK)?

Yes, it would be a very short cab ride.
